Sergio Agosta was a killer who hid behind a charming smile - but a killer nonetheless. He'd learnt the hard way that actions always had consequences. Which was why he was going after the one thing that would be his one and only shot at revenge - the...

After what seemed like an eternity of being groped by random preppy guys and finally resorting to dancing alone, I made my way over to the bar where I spotted my friends and Alex huddled over, deep in discussion. With a sore body and aching heels, I came up behind them.
"Hey. What are you guys talking about?" I asked as I leaned my forearms on the wooden tabletop.
They jumped in fright as if I had just interrupted a conversation I shouldn't be involved in. Amanda laughed nervously as Brittany looked anywhere but at me. Alex just gave me one of his lazy smirks that had me throwing up a bit in my mouth.
"Gia, you almost scared us!" Amanda said as her eyes flitted across the room. "You were dancing with that stranger just now, right?"
I hummed in response at her question, too tired to formulate a reply. Something about this situation felt off but I couldn't really put a finger on it. Oh well, I guess I could chalk that up to the number of drinks I'd had all night long. Clearly, I wasn't into it.
I ordered another drink, promising myself that it would be the last one of the night as the three people around me shifted uncomfortably. My eyebrows knitted in confusion as I eyed my friends' tense stance. What the fuck was going on? I was just about to voice that question out loud before I felt a heavy pressure on my bladder. Fuck. I needed to pee. Really bad.
"Uh, I'm just gonna go to the bathroom guys. Be back in a jiffy." I shouted over the music as I turned to leave.
"Yeah, yeah. You do just that, sweetheart." Drawled Alex in his prissy Essex accent as I saw a look of relief pass through Amanda and Brittany's eyes. The three of them continued their silent conversation as I moved away from the crowd and towards the back, where the bathrooms were. Weird, I thought to myself.
I could feel their gazes boring holes into my back as I entered one of the free stalls. This wasn't the first time that my own best friends had made me feel left out. A part of me knew that they were toxic as fuck - especially after that little stunt they pulled at Andre's house last year. Hooking up with guys while they left me all alone at a complete stranger's party. I had been overwhelmed to say the least and furious, obviously, but I had given in a little too soon after their countless apologies and promises to never let that happen again. Only for it to happen again the next time.
A soft sigh left my lips as the one strand of blonde hair flew in my face. I don't even know what I was doing by being friends with them after being let down countless of times. I guess you could say that I didn't really have anybody else apart from my mum that I could lean on - and that was only on a good day due to our tumultuous mother - daughter relationship. I washed my hands at the sink after finally relieving my bladder. My head throbbed as I placed my hands on the marble counter, waiting for the pain to pass. Ladies and gentlemen...that's exactly what you got for drinking more than you could handle.
I took in a deep breath, trying to push down the nausea that was threatening to make an appearance. After a few seconds, I slowly opened my eyes as I stared back at the woman in front of me. She looked exhausted - after all, law school did that to you - but her eyes burned with a different type of excitement, all thanks to a sexy Italian stranger that had no right to be so hot. I mean, come on, men like him should be illegal. Destroying all those ovaries of women all around the world.
