Sergio Agosta was a killer who hid behind a charming smile - but a killer nonetheless. He'd learnt the hard way that actions always had consequences. Which was why he was going after the one thing that would be his one and only shot at revenge - the...

Gianna's laughter echoed behind me as I unlocked the front door. Even after all this time, I would never get bored of making Gianna smile. Because, the truth was, Gianna's smile lit up my whole world. I actually felt happy with her.
"Good to see you're back, Sergio. We thought you'd never grace us with your presence."
My grin immediately fell as I recognised that voice that had done nothing but belittle me for so long. I locked eyes with my father, my mother sitting right beside him on the couch.
"Sorry, darling, but we had to stay for a bit longer due to work. But we're back now!" Mother said airily as she got up to kiss both of my cheeks. Out of habit, I kissed the top of her head before nodding at my father.
"Father."
One word. One syllable. A person who was supposed to be my role model in life but wasn't, sadly.
"A little notice would have been nice, Mother." I continued, my eyes never leaving Father as his darkened in irritation.
"What now? So we need a fucking invitation to come to our own son's house?"
"Bruno..." Mother muttered lowly as she shot a look to her husband.
He opened his mouth to respond again but I cut him off.
"Last time I checked, you were busy gallivanting off to other countries rather than thinking about your son." I commented as I casually inspected the watch on my wrist. How ironic was it that I was wearing the same watch - a family heirloom - that he had passed on to me when I was 15?
"Why, you little sh -
"Oh. Who is this?" Mother cut Father off as she looked behind me, her eyes furrowed in confusion.
My entire body froze as I realised who she was talking about. Fuck, this wasn't how I'd imagined Gianna to meet my parents.
"Must be another one of his women." Father snorted, a little calmer now that there was someone else amongst us.
"No, actually." I gritted out. "This is Gianna. My girlfriend." I managed to say through clenched teeth as my hand automatically reached out to Gianna's behind me.
I felt her palm against mine as I brought her forward, my body shielding hers partly.
"Oh, well, it's nice to meet you darling."
Mother was the first to break the tense silence as I observed my Father's eyebrows hit his hairline. Did they think I was fucking joking?
Gianna stepped in front of me before she extended her hand towards Mother, who took her hand in hers, albeit a bit hesitantly.
"Nice to meet you too, Mrs Agosta. I've heard a lot of wonderful things about you from Sergio."
Unfuckinglikely. I held back a snort as I watched a pleased expression take over my mother's face.
