Nights turned into days as I spent all of them locked up in my room, only going downstairs to eat something. But that was becoming rare as well now since Luca would come upstairs and give me my meals. I had Sergio only once since the night that he had caught me talking to my mum - his murderous glare had been enough to send me away though. My heart and my head hurt at the thought of not going back home again. I had been selfishly given a flicker of hope only for it to be dimmed out immediately. It's like all the fight in me had gone and I had given up. I was tired. Exhausted of being so alone. Constantly living in the fear of whether I'd wake up to see the next day. I hated every single second of my life right now.

I had never been one to complain about my problems. Not even when I was bullied in school for showing up in the same uniform over the years as I outgrew it. Not even when I was torn apart over all the times that I'd see all my peers' dads coming to school to pick them up or for another parent teacher meeting. It sucked, sure, but I wasn't the only one struggling in this world. Knowing that there were people out there who had it far worse than me made me feel grateful for the fact that I was alive. That I had a roof on my head and three square meals a day and someone by my side, no matter how rough the going got.

Luca had tried to talk to me - the only sort of human contact I had had in the past two weeks - as he eventually broke down my walls, one day at a time. He had even tried cracking a few jokes that had gotten me to smile a wee bit. I could tell that we were getting closer and closer by the day too since he was my one and only friend here, so far - all the other guys were too intimidating to talk to and were usually outside, guarding the house the whole day. Speaking of the devil, I heard a knock on the door. I let out a soft come in as a six foot giant - my new friend - sauntered in with the grace of a gazelle.

"How's my favorite girl?" He asked as he got a groan in response.

"Well, that's one way to greet your new friend who by the way doesn't hold a grudge against you for, you know, kicking him in the balls."

That earned him a snicker as he mock glared at me.

"You deserved that, you know?" I said as my eyes went to the plate that he had set in front of me.

My mouth watered at the sight of the three course meal that was enough to feed a whole family.

Luca rolled his eyes at my response as he urged me to dig into the food. Complying without even a second of hesitation, I dug into my lunch as I oohed and aahed.

"You know, I find it weird. I haven't seen a single woman on the premises ever since I've been brought here." I stated with a mouth full of food. Fuck table manners. I was too starved to think of those right now.

"Just because you don't see them doesn't mean there aren't any." He smirked as he watched me eat.

"If that's the case, then why doesn't he send one of the women up here instead of you?"
