Accident

Monami was walking to and fro in the hall.

' The number you're trying to call is unreachable. Please try again later '

She heard this for 30th time , while calling Karan.

She was hell worried for him.

M(in mind) - Karan, kahan ho tum ?
Maine kaha tha tumhe aaj kahi mat jao  , par tum meri sunte kaha !? Kar lo apni marzi aur ab phone unreachable ja rha hai. Kahan ho tum , Khadoos Shergill ?

Flashback :

In the morning -

Karan was getting ready in front of the mirror , when Monami came and backhugged him.

K- Kya hua Rani Sahiba , aaj bda pyaar aa rha hai !?

M - Karan, aaj mat jao na please.

K (laughing )  - Oh aaj sooraj kahan se nikala hai , Mrs. Monami Karan Shergill , mujhe ghar rukne ke liye keh rhi hai !

M(in a serious tone)  - Karan , mazaak mat karo please.

Karan held her hands and turned back.

K - Kya baat hai Monami ? Tum itni pareshan kyu lag rhi ho ?

M - Karan , mujhe kuch thik nhi lag rha , Aisa lag rha hai kuch hone wala hai.

Karan hugged Monami , allowing her to listen to his heartbeat.

K - Rani sahiba , aap bahut soch rhi hai , kuch nhi hoga. Dekho , main tumhare saath ho , tum mere paas , meri bahoon me ho , aur kya chahiye Monami !?

M - Voh mujhe nhi pta Karan , bas tum aaj bahar mat jao. Aaj ghar par hi raho na please.

K- Monami , mujhe jaana hoga. Aaj intelligence ke saath bahut important meeting .

M - Karan , please na kuch bhi excuse bna do , par aaj rehne do na.

K( holding her closer ) - Monami , samjho na baat , aaj koi excuse nhi chal sakta.

M(making a cute face) - Karan , please.

K - Acha Monami , ek kaam karte hai . Main jaata ho , intelligence ki meeting jaldi se attend karke aa jata ho. Main dopehar tak vapis aa jaonga .

M - Pakka na , Karan !?

K - Ha Rani sahiba. I promise.

M - Okay ,then .

Karan kissed her forehead and then went to the academy.

Present Time :

Monami cries remembering their last conversation.

Just then , her phone rings.

M(in mind) - Unknown number se call , kyu aa rha hai ?
(With a sigh) Shayad kisi patient ka ho , utha leti ho.

She picks up the call.

M - Hello !?

U ( all chaotic ) - Hello madam .

M - Ji bhaiya ?

U - Madam , yaha kisi sahab ka accident hua hai , jinke phone me sabse pehla number aapka tha. Toh aapko phone kar rhe hai.

M (in a cracking voice)  - Bhaiya , kaun hai vo aadmi ?

U - Pta nhi madam , par ha unki Jeb se ek Id mila hai , jispe Karan Shergill likha hai.

M (stumbles and falls ) - Bhaiya , aap aap kahan hai abhi ?

U - Madam ji , abhi toh hum inhe lifeline hospital leke ja rhe hai.

M- Bhaiya , please usse jaldi se vaha le jayiye , main vahi pahunchti ho.

U - Ji madam.

They cut the call.

While Monami ran outside towards the car , she drove at high speed , skipping all the red lights.

At Lifeline Hospital :

M(in a cracking voice ) - Yaha , yaha ek accident case aaya hai , Mr Karan Shergill ka . Please aap batai na voh kahan hai ?

R - oh yes ma'am , Mr Karan Shergill. Unhe abhi operate kiya jaa rha hai , kaahi critical condition hai unki . Doctors unhe ICU me le gaye hai.
Aap vahi bahar wait kar lijiye.

M(mumbling) - thank you.

Monami reached the ICU , a man was standing there ,probably the one who called her.

M - bhaiya , doctors aaye kya bahar ? Kaisi hai unki tabiyat ? Vo thik toh hai na ? Kuch serious toh nhi hai na ?

B - madam ji , hume toh bata nhi hai. Aur Dr sahab abhi tak toh bahar aaye nhi hai . Vo aayenge toh aap khud baat kar lijiye ga.

M- ji , thank you bhaiya.

Monami sat on the chair and started crying.

She then went to the temple and prayed to God for Karan's safety.

She then came back , the door of ICU opened . Doctor came out

D - Yeh Mr Shergill ki family se kaun aaya hai ?

M - Dr , main . Main Karan ki wife , Dr . Monami Shergill.

D - Hi Dr Monami .

He greeted formally and shook their hands.

M - Dr , Karan kaisa hai ,kuch prblem toh nhi hai na ?

D - Dr. Monami, I don't want to give you false hopes. But , Mr Shergill thode critical hai. Unke haath me fracture aaya hai , aur head par thodi chot aayi hai. Operation was successful. But , agar unhe 2 ghante me hosh nhi aaya , toh voh coma me jaa sakte hai.

M(she fell on the chair ) - What !?

D - See Dr Monami, you need to be strong. Just hope ki Mr Shergill ko hosh aa jaye.

Monami just nodded.

D - We will be shifting Mr Shergill to the general ward , where you can meet him.

M - thank you doctor.

It was almost two hours , Karan was still unconscious.

Karan is shifted to the general ward.
Monami looks at Karan from the window.

M(in mind ) - Yeh kya halaat bna Li hai tumne apni ,  khadoos shergill.

She took baby steps and goes inside the ward , sits besides him and caresses his hair .

M(crying) - Maine kaha tha na tumhe Karan , aaj mat jao , par tumne meri baat nhi mani. Ab dekho kya halat bna li tumne apni.

Monami held his hand and kissed it.

M(crying ) - Khadoos Shergill , utho na please , mujhse tumhari yeh halat nhi dekhi ja rhi. Doctor ne kaha ki agar tum 2 ghante me nhi uthe toh tum coma , coma me slip ho jaoge.

With a determined look ,
M - Par mujhe pta hai , tum apni Rani Sahiba ko chodd ke kahi nhi jaoge. Kahi nhi jaoge na ?

(Sobbing)-
Karan, main tumhe warn kar rhi ho , agar tumne mujhse dur jaane ka socha bhi toh , tumse pehle main tumse dur chali jaungi. Iss mamle me , main tumhe nhi jeetne dungi. Tumse pehle main heaven me hongi , aur tumhara welcome karungi.

M(weeping) - Karan ! Karan ,please utho na. Tum aise apna promise nhi tod sakte. Tumne kaha tha na ki tum dopehar tak vapis aa jauge , ab toh shaam ho gyi hai , please vapis ghar chalo na. Tum hi kehte ho ki ek commando apna promise kabhi nhi todta , right !?

Monami stood and turned back .

M - thik hai phir. Iss cheez me bhi zidd karoge na tum . Kitne ziddi ho tum , par main tumse zyada ziddi ho.
Main jaa rhi ho , tumhe chodd ke , isse pehle tum jaao main kudh chali jaungi.

She was walking towards the door.
