Chapter 19

My sister freaked out. Kaden and I became friends. I went on a date. Those were the events of this week. The note I received read:

Kath/Ahren/Kaden or whoever

OH. MY. GOSH.

NO WAY!!!!

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!

I am like freaking out right now!! Was that actually Ahren? Am I just going insane? Kaden what!!! I also want to kill you and the prince, but oh my god!! Please update me!!

Number two. Kaden and I. It was weird he started asking everything and anything about my sister. So we we're bonding I guess? Anyway it's weird a seventeen year old girl and a fourteen year old boy, but it just happened. Ahren was hysterical about it.
Number three, the date. We went for archery and it was interesting. Let's just say not much arrows of mine got the target. I also let Ahren read Kylie's letter and boy he laughed. It's also a new thing of him reading my siblings letters. He find it 'comical.' I really like him, but the truth is, I'm afraid to fall in love. After seeing what happened with James, it's hard to trust boys. They could go breaking your hearts. Kendall cried for days and he didn't even care. By the time I knew it I was crying myself. Not sobs, but slow gentle tears.

"Kathleen?" A voice summoned me. "Are you okay?" Ahren appeared from around the bookshelf.

"It's just...I...uh-"

"Do you want to talk?" Yes. I missed my head and went into the long story...

My sister and James were the happiest couple. Kendall was in love with him and I can understand why. He treated her well, wasn't afraid to show it or tell anyone. Everything was good until that one day. That day where James was passionately kissing another girl. Kendall was shocked and had a mini freak out on spot. That sadness only got worse and the next day at the park was not pretty. They usually meet up, but he was with her. The other girl. James had brutally dumped my sister the next day and that is when I had lost a grand thing in life. Trust.

Ahren soothed me and seemed affected my the sad tale. I knew I was overreacting, but remembering how my sister was it-it made me die inside. She didn't deserve it.

"She was only 18 and she-she wanted nothing, but him." I let tears slip. "He came to her with the girl and told her he found someone he could 'connect' with better."

"The other girl had to leave for some reason and he keeps bugging my sister."

"Does your sister still love him?"

"Yes," I whisper.

He kissed me and I felt his hands moving. When we pulled apart we brought his eyes to mine.

"Kathleen," he said. "Will you make me the happiest man on earth and marry me?" As the cool metal slipped on to my finger I snapped back into reality.

I was dreaming about Ahren. In these seven weeks I have fallen in love with him and for that I have made a mistake. I could be brutally rejected. Or I could win. I could also die or be kidnapped. There are do many thing that can happen in this selection. I rose from my bed and saw my reflection. I looked like a zombie. I ringed for my maids and they came in no time. After an hour I was finally looking decent and I was sent for dinner. I could see Ahren looking at me, but there was slight pity in his eyes. At the sight Alyssa stared daggers at me. She was beyond jealous, but honestly I didn't mind. She deserved it. Isabella caught me and gave me a smug look. Then Lyla saw us and laughed. Then Ahren turned his head to her and the three of us giggled. He looked so confused, but yet so adorable. Alyssa fumed even more and excused herself to the bathroom. Dinner wasn't so bad. After dinner I may up with all three of my friends including Ilena and we had a laughing fit. Ahren once again passed us and asked what we were up too.

"Nothing your highness," I replied.

"Formal there aren't we."

"Okay if you guys are gonna have a word make out session please get a room I just ate," Isabella butt in. Ahren raised an eyebrow and I playfully slapped her.

"Izzy!" She raised her hands in mock innocence.

"Just saying." I turned to Ahren and said apologized for her behavior. I could feel a blush rising.

"Hey," he said raising my chin. "Your cute when your flustered." This made me flame.

"T-thanks." The things he does to me with words. He kisses my cheek and says goodbye. I walk to my room and on my way I hear "Told you it was a make out session."

"He kissed me on the cheek."

"Still, you guys are cute." This for some reason also made me blush.

"I can smell love I the air," Isabella said air quoting 'love in the air.'

I can too.
