3rd Person's POV (Narrator)

Despite the talk between Maurice and Aspen, the next two weeks turned out to be unchanging for Maurice and Alexa. The two remained distant from each other. They had been like this for 3 weeks already. They interacted once within the said time frame though, and that is when Maurice went to Alexa's unit to hand her over the hard copy of the invitation for the engagement party which contained the necessary details such as the attire, time, and venue.

Justine was the one who opened the door for Maurice. The sight that welcomed Maurice made her heart ache. It made her grip onto the hem of her own shirt. Justine was wearing an oversized shirt which had the scent that Maurice could easily recognize. Her hair was soaked then a towel was resting over her shoulders. It seemed that she just came out from the shower. Her lips were a little swollen. The last description alone was more than enough for Maurice to figure out what happened between the two the night before.

Maurice took a deep breath before asking Justine about Alexa, trying her very best to keep her composure. Justine told her that the latter was just taking a bath. Despite her voice being hoarse still... Justine yelled, telling Alexa to hurry up as someone was looking for her.

Not so long after, Alexa came out from her room. Maurice can hear her asking Justine along the way about who it was. Unlike Justine, Alexa did not have a pair of swollen lips. Her neck was also clear from marks. 

Between the two, it was only Justine who seemed to be sore. Justine was moving limply as she was stepping aside to give space for Alexa. That sparked the hope within Maurice that at least Alexa did not let Justine to touch her. It gave her hope that Alexa was feeling insecure about the thought of getting back into an intimate relationship with Justine. It also gave her hope that it is still her whom Alexa loves and wants.

The moment that Alexa stood next to Justine, she turned her face towards the person standing in front of them to take a look. Displeasure was evident her eyes upon seeing Maurice, but she managed to mask it quickly with an eye smile along with a forced smile. Alexa was quick enough to do this so Justine not to recognize the initial displeasure, but not for Maurice. 

"Miss Claveria, you should've informed me that you are coming over." Alexa uttered, acting as if she was all good with Maurice.

'As if you would allow me to do so.'

That is what Maurice had in mind before she forced a smile for Alexa as well. "I do not see the need to do so. After all, I wouldn't be here for long... I just wanted to give this to you personally." 

Then, Maurice handed over an envelope to Alexa. It contained the invitation along with a note for the latter. Alexa took it then peeked on what's inside. Alexa's eyebrow quirked in disbelief on how brazen Maurice was.

Maurice glanced at Justine who was not looking at them as of that moment before she leaned her face closer to Alexa's, specifically towards her right ear.

"Make sure to read the note inside, baby." Maurice whispered to Alexa in such a deep voice, subtly flicking her tongue against Alexa's ear afterwards. The action caught Alexa off guard and nearly made her whimper. 

Seeing how Alexa reacted, a prideful smirk formed on Maurice's lips as soon as she moved away. As soon as the former regained her control over herself, she glared at Maurice. She made sure that it would be elusive for Justine.

As much as Maurice wanted to do more to convince Alexa, she could not go any further. For now, all that she can do is to hope that Alexa would comply.
