This epilogue made me cry my eyes out. I loved loved writing this story. Of course it came with a mental exhaustion as it tugged my heart strings. This is the last chapter. Please leave comments if you liked this story. I hope you enjoyed this journey!
Also, Fei, my love, you'll forever be iconic.
There was something different about the day I met the love of my life.
It started with a disaster. I woke up late. Skipped breakfast because I was in hurry. Fought with my grandmother when she wouldn't stop saying things that I didn't want to think about. I passed the audition for the SM Entertainment training program, and needed to leave for South Korea.
Granny thought it was the perfect opportunity to say things like I was a grown up boy now and won't need her anymore. I told her that I needed her. That I would need her always. My mood was sour and then I met her.
Li Fei Hong.
A literal storm entered my life in the form of her. I wasn't a gentleman on our first meet and felt like kicking myself hard for being rude. There was something about her that I couldn't explain. The disdain in her eyes when she looked at me cut me deep.
"What are you looking at?" One of my friends asked as he stopped beside me. It was lunchtime. Fei was walking with a junior girl, more like bickering with her. "Oh God. That girl is trouble. Spare yourself, Yixing."
I frowned. "What?"
"Fei. I'm talking about her. She's a ticking bomb." Liang shook his head. "Her father got married to this woman in our neighborhood and the father and daughter shifted here recently. It has only been a few days but Fei holds a reputation for being the most unapproachable person in the neighborhood."
That sounded sad.
"Ask me. I went to talk to her and she literally walked past me after giving me a look." My friend added. Then his eyes lit up. "Oh right! You had a disagreement with her in the morning today. Right? Ah... She even caused a havoc on the first day of her school."
I hummed. "It was on me. I was in a bad mood and acted like an asshole." Shaking my head, I turned away from Fei. "That must be her step-sister, Xiu then. Right?"
Liang shuddered. "I feel bad for them. Especially Fei. Her father is..."
My ears perked. "What?"
The boy scratched the back of his head. "I don't know if I should say this or not... But, he's not... good to her. I've seen her getting beaten up every day since she arrived." He cleared his throat. "For everything she does. Notice something about her skirt?"
I gulped and glanced over my shoulder. "What about her skirt?"
"Bruises. She wears a long skirt and high length socks to cover up her bruises." Liang sighed. "Last week, I was passing by her house because my side's gate was locked. She was... applying ointment. It didn't look pretty."
My head hurt with the information. As if her life wasn't already miserable, I made her feel pathetic today. Shit. I tried to gain courage to talk to her the whole day. Even followed her to her home. She was walking ahead alone, and I took a deep breath. Zhang Yixing, let's do this. I lifted my hand to call out her name when someone ran past me.
"Fei! You should have waited for me." It was her step sister, Xiu. Fei only rolled her eyes and they walked together inside the house.
My shoulders slumped. I missed my chance. I turned around to see Liang standing there, confused. "What are you doing in my neighborhood?" He asked as he came to me.
