You stood in the airport, your carry-on suitcase in hand as your friends surrounded you by the entrance of the gate. You were going to miss them, Camp Half-Blood, and all of the other people you met back in New York. You didn't want to leave them, but knew that you wanted to take a break from New York and move to your dream city, San Fransokyo.
"Oh (y/n), we're going to miss you so much!" Hazel smiled, pulling you into a tight hug.
"I'm going to miss you guys too. Come visit, and don't get into too much trouble without me." You wink at your friends jokingly.
You turned to Percy, your brother and best friend, "I'll miss you seaweed brain."
"Technically your a seaweed brain too, plus the fire abilities." He chuckles and you smile.
"I'm still not used to being different from you guys."
"Hey your difference makes you unique. You may be a mix of two gods but that only makes you stronger than the rest of us. Embrace that (y/n)." Annabeth smiles encouraging you.
"Thanks."
As you say your last goodbyes, your friends promised to iris message you and come visit whenever they could. Walking over to your gate to board the plane, you turn to your friends to wave goodbye, one last time. You got on the plane by yourself, no guardian, no friends, just you. A feeling of loneliness hit you for a second before it was replaced with excitement. You were going to start a new life, and you knew that your mom would have been so proud of you for following your dreams.
Your mom had died on a quest - because she was a demigod like you are - right after you were born. Even though you didn't really know her, people at camp told you great stories about her, and it made you wish she was still alive. You were raised in foster care for a while until you found out about you abilities and went to camp half blood. You didn't have a guardian but due to having a unique set of powers, you could handle yourself fine if a monster ever showed up to kill you.
That was one of the perks of being different.
You sat in the cramped plane, looking outside the window to get a good view of your surroundings below. Being on the plane reminded you of the Argos II, even though the plane was much smaller and uncomfortable to be in.
When you finally arrived you got off the plane, grabbed your luggage, and walked towards the doors. The morning sun of San Fransokyo shone brightly in the sky as you stretched out your body, making your way to the taxi area. You were exhausted but you needed to find a place to stay before you could sleep.
A taxi cab pulled up beside you and you decided to get some coffee before finding a place to stay. Getting into the cab, you buckled up before speaking. "Is there a good coffee place anywhere close by?"
"Yes ma'am, there's this place called the Lucky Cat Cafe not too far from here. It's my favorite cafe in the city, and they have amazing pastries." The cab driver replied.
"Great! The Lucky Cat Cafe it is." I smiled, watching the driver nod and drive off in that direction.
