Chapter 27: Imposter

Chapter 27

"Hello Omi-kun, I've boarded the train!" Kaiya said, holding her phone to her ear with her shoulder while she rummaged through her. Sakusa grunted,

"Okay. Message me when you reach. How are your parents? I'm sure your father must be upset." Sakusa said and Kaiya hummed, taking out the sandwiches she had made earlier. Her father beamed, grabbing them from her, jolly as ever while he ate, making Kaiya's mother shake her head.

"Sure... He's devastated..." Kaiya muttered... To be honest, the lady who passed away was her father's mean aunt. They weren't really close, but they could not avoid ditching the funeral... She felt really bad for leaving Sakusa in that situation, she was pretty excited about going out this weekend...

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" She asked him.

However, she was actually more concerned about Chewy than Sakusa...

Two pairs of dark eyes locked with one another. Sakusa's mouth turned into a scowl staring at the caged vermin on his balcony.

"It's just a rabbit." He answered and she raised a brow, wondering if he read her mind...

"Omi, I'm sorry for making you do this... You just need to feed him and that's all... He can stay in the hutch until I'm back. So don't worry about taking him out or anything."

Sakusa grimaced, he could feel those beady little eyes boring into him.

"I can handle it, Kaiya"

He didn't like that... Turning his back, he walked back inside... Just being a few inches away from the cage, made him immediately scrub his hands.

"You're so sweet Omi-kun... I'm probably going to try coming back tonight. Otosan and Okasan will stay the weekend but they said I can come back after the funeral." Her voice dropped into a whisper

"I promise I'll make it up to you later... We can do anything you want"

He raised a brow, now that peeked his interest

"Anything?" He asked and she hummed, cautiously looking at her parents but they were busy in their own world. She let out a small laugh,

"You heard me" She teased, making him smirk

"Where are your parents sitting?" He asked and she raised a brow,

"Near me." She answered, and her mother looked at her smiling

Sakusa just chuckled, "Can they hear me?" He asked

"No..."

"Good..."

"Why?" She asked and he was quiet for a second, before a smug look grew on his lips

"Just tell your father to book an appointment for you"

She was confused, furrowing her brows

"Me? W-Why?"

Her parents glanced at her, looking at her confused face but Sakusa caught her attention again when he smugly blurted

"Because you'll be needing it when I break your back tonight"

She nearly gave a reaction, but she was still facing her parents. Controlling the heat that rushed to her flushed cheeks, she cleared her throat
