RishMi - I Love Her

Rishi's P.O.V.

"Rishi?" Lakshmi said quietly walking in the room looking at Malishka and me suspiciously, "Tum dono-" (The both of you-)

"Mein congratulate karne aaya tha,"  (I just came to congratulate her) I say quickly letting go of Malishka's hands,  stepping away, "V-Viraj aur uska roka hoga hai na toh..."  (For their engagement) Malishka stared at me hurt, but I couldnt hurt Lakshmi,  I can't leave Lakshmi, I love her...I don't know when I don't know how...but I fell in love with her and now...I can't leave her. 

She looked back and forth, the in her eyes  suspicion was slowly fading away as a small smile came on to her face, "Acha! Mein bhi wahi kehni aati per-" (Oh, I was just coming to-)

"Lakshmi, sara baahar aana!" (Lakshmi, come outside.) Mom called her, Lakshmi looked back at us, hesitantly before leaving without saying a word. Her suspicion wasnt gone yet, I know. I made a move to follow her but Malishka stopped me I turned back shaking my head. 

"Mein nahi chodd sakta Lakshmi ko Malishka...woh bohot achi hai, aur jo hum karahe hain, woh teek nahi hain. Tum Viraj ke saath kuch rehna aur mein-" (I can't leave Lakshmi Malishka. She's really nice and what we are doing isnt right. You need to say happy with Viraj-)

"Lakshmi ke saath kuch raunga right?" (And you'll stay happy with Lakshmi right?)  She cutt me off, "Rishi tum samaj kyu nahi rahe ho ke men tumse pyaar karti hoon aur mujhe pata hain ke tum bhi karte ho mujhse pyaar." (Rishi,  please try to understand that I love you, and I know that you love me too.)

"Nahi," (No.)  I say firmly, "Mein pyaar nahi karte tumese ab. Mein tumse pyaar karta tha Malishka, pyaar karta bhi tha ya nahi, woh bhi nahi pata...mein pyaar ko kuch aur hi matlab de beta per jo mein Lakshmi ke liya feel karta hoon woh kuch aur hai." (I don't love you anymore...I used to love you Malishka. I don't even know if I actually loved you or not. What we had wasnt love, and what I feel for Lakshmi is something totally different.)

"What?" She asked quietly, "Rishi ye tum kya kerahe ho!" (What are you saying?)

"Such." (The truth)  Inhaling deeply I run my fingers through my hair stepping away from her, "Bohot time ke baad mein such bol raha hoon Malishka. Mein Lakshmi se pyaar karne laga hoon, aur ye pagal pan aur janoon wala pyaar jo tume itna maan ti ho...ye saab tumhara dimaag mein hain." (After a really long time I have said the truth Malishka. I love Lakshmi, and this crazy idea of love that you believe in...it's all in your mind now.)

"Rishi," 

"I'm sorry Malishka," I say quietly, "Mujhe maaf kardena agar ho sake," (Please forgive me,) Leaving her hand I ignore her calls walking away forcing a smile on my face as I walked away from her, Lakshmi found her way into my heart so effortlessly, I have no idea when she pushed Malishka out. Now I can't imagine my life without her. 

Lakshmi turned to look at me, an immediate smiling at me, the once forced smile on my face turned into a genuine one, walking up to her I gently grabbed her hand intertwining my fingers along with hers. "Kya baat hai Rishi," (Rishi?) Dadaji said smiling at us, "Aaj barda haq jaata raha hain." (Why are you holding Lakshmi so close today?)

Lakshmi blushed, "Aap ka koi baraosa nahi hain Daddaji, Malishka ke jaaga aap Lakshmi ko bata de." I joke, "Itni pasand jo hai aap ko." (I don't trust you Daddaji, maybe instead of Malishka you'll get Viraj to marry Lakshmi since you like her so much.)

Dadaji chuckled, "Pasand toh hai, per tum dono ki jodhi sabse zaada achi lagti hain." (I do like her, but you two look so beautiful together, a different type of couple.)

Lakshmi looked at me shaking her head trying ot take her hand out of mine but I held it tighter, "Pehle se bani hai humari jodhi toh kaisa ni achi lagegi?" (Our pair was made before we were born.)  Dad smiled at me, "Thori der se pata chala per...jaise Viraj aur Malishka ek dusre ke liya hai, waise Lakshmi aur mein ek dusre ke liya hai." (I figured it out alittle late, but just like Malishka and Viraj, Lakshmi and I are made for each other.)

"Sun lo, Rishi indirectly kerahe hain, ke Lakshmi uski hain."  (Listen, everyone, Rishi indirectly is saying that Lakshmi is his.) Dad said, "Aap ki batton se darga mujhe lagta hain." (I think he got scared by your comments.)

Smirking I pull Lakshmi closer to me, "Pyaar karta hoon, toh kaisa dar?" (I love her...why would I be afraid?)

Lakshmi's face had turned completely red, "Lo pyaar ka izhaar bhi hogya, Lakshmi beta, tum bhi kehdo tum Rishi se pyaar karti ho." Dadaji said,  (Wow, an confession. Lakshmi, you say it too.)

She breathed in sharply, "Mein? Sab- Sab ke samne?" (Me? I-In front of everyone?)

"Toh? Rishi ne bhi kehdiya na sab ke samne."  (So? Rishi said it infront of everyone too.) My body froze in fear, Malishka. Glaring at me she went to go stand beside Viraj, "Sharmana kyu? Tum bhi kehdo Lakshmi." (Don't be shy Lakshmi, say it.) Malishka smirked at me, "Karti ho na pyaar?" (You do love him right?)

Licking her lips Lakshmi stood firm beside me, "Mein..." (I...)

"Lkahsmi," I say quietly turning her around to face me so she was standing in front of me, I smile trying to comfort her, 

"Mein bhi pyaar karti hoon." She mumbled,  (I love him too.)

"Aise nahi Bhabi,"  (Not like that Bhabhi) Ahana said walking over, "Kul ke boliya jaise Rishi Bhai ne kaha." (Say it out loud, as Rishi did.)

Lakshmi leaned over whispering in my ear, "Kaha vasadiya Rishi?" (What did you do Rishi?)

Chuckling, "Kehdo na, Diwali pe toh mujhe boldiya tha." (Say it, you said it to me on Diwali.)

"Hum akele tha Rishi," (We were alone Rishi)

"Are!" (Hey!)  Malishka pulled us apart, "Husband Wife ke beech mein kya chal raha hain? Lakshmi, bol do na."  (What are you two talking about? Lakshmi, say it.) What was she trying to do? 

She inhaled sharply looking around, "I love you Rishi,"

A huge smile came onto my face, as everyone clapped, "I love you, Lakshmi." 

Lakshmi hide her face with her hair, but I gently moved it away pulling her into a hug, 

"Rab ne bana di jodi, yeh. lafaaz sirf in dono ke liya bana hai."(God made them for each other, perfectly.) Dadi said, "Nazar na lag jaye meri." (Keep them away from the evil eyes.)

 I love her, it took me a long time to figure it out, but I love her now and no matter what I am not going to let her go...never.
