"Wait, I forgot the food."

"There's no need for that." He replied with a beaming smile. Hu Tao smirked in return lifting her arm and running her pale fingers through his hair.

"H-hey!" He turned his face to the side avoiding her stare.

"Whatever, let's just enjoy the scenery."

They both sat down on a lush pillow of grass and admired the view. Behind them, a valley, decorated with the most exquisite flowers in all the land, covering any space for grass. Like a canvas with colorful chalk splatters that completes the work of art, like she completed him.

Her gaze shifted to the endless horizon in front of them. The pale blue sky reflecting in the rippled water.

"Hey." A voice brought her out of her thoughts.

"Does it- does it ever bother you that you're all alone?"

The question caught her off guard, soon, a small sigh escaped her lips.

"You see that cloud?" She finally spoke, her voice hardened.

Above her, a grey cloud drifted within the sea of white. Somehow, it looked different, cast out, like a misfit, a crack, a smudge in the perfect painting.

"Yes." Xiao replied, unsure of where this was going.

She then pointed at the sun, whose light shifted, causing another one to turn grey.

"I'm not alone."
"Because I've got you, and you've got me!"

The mixed colours swirled in a certain way, Hu Tao and Xiao, both entrances by its peculiar formation.

Deep down, Xiao asked himself, was he alone? After years of being afraid, afraid of himself, chasing his unreachable dream, following his path as if it were carved in stone.

"I-I guess you're right."

A small smile tugged the corners of his lips as her hand came in contact with his.

I'm not alone anymore... <3
