Closer... she thought to herself
Closer... she stared into the golden abyss he called eyes...
"Hehe you're so cute Xiao up close!" She blurted out, immediately regretting her actions
"Wha-"
"It's the truth!" Hu Tao mumbled slowly trying to back-paddle from what she had just done.
He felt his face go red as he wrapped his hands around her waist, this time initiating the hug.
"What? Mr. Adepti can't play tough guy anymore? How adorable..." she snickered embracing the rare hugs he gave.
Once they were done bathing in each other's warmth, Hu Tao had decided now it would be a good time to bring it up:
"You know tonight's the Lantern rite, right?"
"Hm?" He responded, clearly still in daze from that long lasting hug...
"Lantern rite? Ring a bell?"
"Oh, the festival..." he looked down at his hands, forcing back the tears as past memories came flooding in...
"Anyway, do you wanna come with me?"
A minute of silence overtook them, Xiao debating whether to participating in such mortal activities... . Well- it was Hu Tao, and he, would do just about anything to be with her...
As the silence continued, Hu Tao sat, twirling her fingers around each other. Perfect scenery, perfect time, perfect- .... perfect confession? Her face flushed red as she kept returning to the same idea....
