CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR • THE WHOLE TRUTH

∆∆∆

there were countless of voices surrounding them, of cheers and whispers as they are in a place filled with people. it was finally the much awaited match that will determine if the shiratorizawa volleyball club may go to the nationals this time around. they are by far the strongest in the prefecture, but still kana wished that they will win as if they were lacking. it wasn't that she didn't believe in them, she just strongly believed that there was no match that one is sure to win, and no match that one is sure to lose. there is always uncertainty when it came to victory.

"you'll be on that court in half an hour. i'm sure you'll do great with the team, jiro." kana muttered to her lover, both of them sat down on the bleachers while watching the other teams play against each other.

"i hope so. i take pride in the skills of our team." the copper haired male replied, his eyes fixated on the teams below. he was leaning towards the steel bars that separated himself from the court itself, with kana standing by his side. the other cheerleaders were also with them, since it was shirabu who went to kana and not the other way around.

"i believe in everyone, too."

before shirabu can even turn towards the girl, he felt her arms wrap around his body, earning a blush from him. he was so nervous, his heart racing faster than horses in a race. he then moved his arms to wrap around her, too, appreciating the action his girlfriend made to cheer him up.

"good luck out there, jiro. i believe you'll do great. i'll give you kisses later after the game, okay? so do your best for me, the team and for yourself. i'll be waiting for you here later." kana said, smiling as she looked up at the setter with a smile on. she noticed the blush that was on his cheeks, but she decided not to point it out.

he then separated from the hug, taking kana's hand in his and then bringing it close to his lips so he could kiss her knuckles. he felt so lucky to have such a supportive person by his side, and this was his response— an act of showing her how much he truly appreciated every action that kana did for him.

"thank you for always staying by my side. later, i'll tell you something after my game. wait for me, okay?" the setter said, realizing that he should probably regroup with his team. "i'll go look for you later. cheer me on, kana."

"i will. and i will always wait for you even if you don't tell me to do so."

perhaps, they were much too focused on each other's loving words and gestures that they did not notice the crowd around them. the cheerleading them were so much ready to tease their lovely member sashihara kana once her boyfriend steps out of the frame. either way, it was safe to say that everyone loved the chemistry between the two— kana was the only one who can handle shirabu, and shirabu was the only one who showed kana's other sides. it was the match of the century.
