He leaned his bike against the side wall and went inside the Jaruji Auto services and repairs.
Tee is buried under stacks of papers and books. He lifted his head and offered a wan smile to Godt.
"Shit, man!" Godt placed his hands on his hips and gave his friend a sympathetic look.
"Could my life get anymore pathetic?" Tee whined.
"Did you talk to your dad about the thing I told you about last night?" Godt slumped on the guest chair in front of Tee's work table.
"I still haven't seen him." Tee put his pen aside and leaned closer. "He started a new business, did you know?"
"Really?" Godt casually draped his arm along the headrest.
Tee nodded.
"He partnered with some big ass rich investor from Japan."
"Wow." Godt widened his eyes.
"Yeah, he's going to import auto parts and I think he wants to start a car sale."
"Your dad doesn't do things half way right?"
"That's why he wants me to handle this." Tee tapped at the books on his desk. "Then he has more time for his new business."
"Hmm..." Godt frowned.
"You know if he doesn't invest on computers for this place then I'm going to use my own money to buy one."
"You are lucky you inherited your mother's money." Godt thrust is lower lip up. "You don't totally have to depend on your dad. I don't know why you still work for him. If I had my own money and did not have to depend on my dad then I would have gone far away from this shit hole." Godt wrinkled his nose.
"I know my dad is nasty." Tee sighed. "But he's all I've got. I can't leave him, Godt."
"You're always too clingy." Godt shook his head.
"Err... P'Tee..."
They both turned hearing the timid voice calling behind them.
"Ah, Bas..." Tee tilted his head and smiled. "Done for the day?"
"Five washes and vacuums, two waxes and one cut and polish," Bas nodded.
"Okay...." Tee began rummage in the cash registry. "Here you are, Bas." Tee handed a few bills to the young boy.
"Thank you, Phi." Bas took the money and smiled but gasped at seeing the amount.
"That's okay, Bas. Just keep it." Tee waved his hand with smile.
"Thank you, Phi." Bas smiled. "I'll see you tomorrow, Phi."
When the kid disappeared, Godt got to his feet.
"Did you just over pay him?" Godt lifted one eyebrow.
"He works too hard and dad never pays him properly for his hard work." Tee shrugged. "I believe that's labor exploitation, not to mention illegal since Bas is a minor. So extra couple of hundreds wouldn't do harm. Besides, the workshop is earning good money."
