Bas sighed and turned to face the tall man drenched from head to toe, looking repentant.

"No." Bas shook his head and tilted his face up to look right into Godt's eyes. "I shouldn't have acted like a brat."

Godt's lips curved up. He lifted his hands and flipped the plastic hood off the boy's head.

"I missed you." He whispered finger combing the damp curls from Bas's forehead. Then he cradled the chubby cheeks and planted a kiss on the smooth forehead.

Bas closed his eyes, savouring the touch of the soft lips and the smell of aftershave mingled with the rain.

"Missed you too." Bas placed his palms on Godt's chest and curled his fingers around the drenched material of the shirt. "But we got to get you out of these." He tugged the shirt.

"What's the hurry?" Godt chuckled softly.

"Shut up!" Bas gently shoved the man's chest and moved away. "I need to walk Jake before he gets cranky." He said walking inside the house. Godt stood at the doorway dripping water around his soaked sneakers and on P'Bella's floor.

"Here" Bas came back with a folded towel. "Leave the wet clothes out and take a shower." He held Godt's wrist and tugged him inside. The tall man followed reluctantly knowing that he'd soil the floor of the house but let Bas guide him inside. "I'll walk the dog first and then when I come back we'll try to find something that will fit you to wear." He gave Godt a once over. "The bathroom is this way." He pointed.

Before Godt could answer Bas proceeded towards the kitchen where Jake must be impatiently waiting for him.

"Hey, Boy!" Bas petted the Beagle's head who whined and tried to lick his hand. "Wanna go for a walk?" He took the leash and attached it to the red collar around its neck. "But we can't play around for long okay?" He said opening the back door. "It's Bas' birthday and I have a very special guest today." The dog wagged its tail and ran ahead of Bas and he chuckled looking up into the dark sky and the softly falling drizzle.

Godt shed his wet clothes on the bathroom floor and got inside the shower. He didn't even think of bringing any change of clothes. He didn't think, period. He just put his shoes and jacket on, slung his satchel across his chest and caught a bus home. He was an idiot. An idiot in love.

Last night was a disaster. He was drunker than he expected and he let some B-grade models drag him away from the boy he loves. By the time he managed to escape them and got his phone back, the boy had already ended the call.

What did he expect? That Bas would wait around until he finished dancing with those girls? More than anything he hated hurting the little one. His chest ached at the thought of hurting him, making him cry. On top of everything it's his sixteenth birthday.

He wanted to kick himself. To make matters worse his phone remained unreachable, probably off.

So he caught a ten-hour-long bus ride to his home town. His dad didn't know. He didn't even tell his best friend that he was coming. That's why he waited at the locked gate in front of Bas's home, in the unending drizzle, getting wet.
