A/n – Hello, everyone! ❤❤❤
So, the response for this book was positive than I imagined. Good to know that we still got people who enjoyed the old ships. Thank you everyone for voting and commenting. Means so much to me.😘😘😘
Right now, my country is undergoing an economic crisis. Since the foreign exchange is sparse we are facing 7 and ½ hour power interruption per day. My old laptop don't work without power and I'm in a writing crisis right now.🙄🙄
Anyway, if you are wondering, my country is Sri Lanka - it's that little drop under the India.😜
Thanks for reading my rant.
Enjoy the double updates.
Love.🌹🌹🌹
Copter gazed through the darkened glass of the mini-van.
He's here, like every single weekday day morning. He stood tall and handsome, casually leaning against the lamppost, pretending to read something on his phone. But Copter knew that the guy's attention is on the minivan full of Copter and his friends.
Today, he's wearing a pair of faded blue jeans and a gray loose shirt, not fashionable to an expert's eye. But Kimmon could pull off wearing anything.
"He's so handsome today." Nam whispered when the van stopped in front of the school gate.
"Sh.." Copter glanced at their old driver, luang Chang. The man had been their family driver as long as Copter can remember. He's utterly loyal to his dad, the young man didn't want him to be suspicious of the tall, handsome guy who stood under the lamp post every morning.
"We're here." Luang Chang, looked back and smiled at the bunch of teens. "I'll be here to pick you up in the evening."
"Please come at 6pm today, uncle." Copter shouldered his bag and moved to open the door. "We have a drama club meeting today."
"Very well, khun nuu." He bowed his head.
Copter and his three friends started walking away towards the school gate. Chang chuckled at the reluctant way they dragged their feet. Teenagers! He shook his head, did a swift uturn and left.
"He left." Pete hissed.
Copter looked back at the disappearing vehicle before glancing at the man leaning against the lamp post. Kimmon had lost all his pretense of nonchalance and openly watching Copter with a fond smile at the corner of his lips. But his smile faltered when the boy broke away from his group of friends and started striding towards Kimmon. He was horror struck when Copter stopped next to him and looked up smiling.
Cold sweat broke down his spine. The initial deal was to wait here until Copter gets to school, just to catch a glimpse of each other. After they started texting, seeing each other once a week at the café Kimmon works wasn't enough at all. So this is Copter's suggestion. They wouldn't talk, or smile at each other, only exchange a glance as Copter walked to the school gate after getting out of his van. It's not a hardship for Kimmon since he can make arrangements to change his shift accordingly. It's a privilege of being an assistant manager. On the plus side, seeing Copter every morning was a blessing for his heart.
But now the boy is giving him a heart attack. They were not supposed to talk, especially with surveillance cams installed by the school. He didn't want the security guard at the school gate to suspect him as a creep who had come to snatch school children.
"Happy birthday, P'Kim!" Copter's smile bloomed, deepening the dimples. Kimmon couldn't help returning the smile, despite his fears. "Here!" Before Kimmon could say or do anything, Copter reached into his pocket and pulled out a small square and thrust it towards the tall man. Kimmon took it automatically, but before he could utter a single word, Copter blushed and ran away.
What just happened?
Kimmon walked in a daze. It's still early and he's one of the first few to come to work. Shoving the bag inside his locker, Kimmon went to the small room reserved for the assistant managers and slumped on a chair.
Leaning his head back, he ran his palm down his face. Copter came and smiled up at him. The moment would be imprinted in his mind as one of the top five Copter moments.
With a deep exhale he smiled and picked the small square he received from Copter. It's a tiny envelope with a hand-made mini birthday card.
❤Happy Birthday to my P'Kim!❤
❤From your Copter.❤
Copter had handwritten in his elegant script. Kimmon smiled admiring the hearts around the wordings. He especially liked the 'My' and 'Your' parts in the card.
With a smile he closed the card. He didn't tell Copter that today was his birthday. But the Facebook must have notified him.
He was going to put the card back inside the envelope – He'll treasure this as the first gift he received from Copter. But there's something else written on the back.
P.S. Meet me @ The Juliana, 5pm today. ❤
Please? 🌹🌹🌹
"Shit!" Kimmon almost fell from his seat. Copter wanted to meet. Yet they still haven't done their first date. Kimmon wanted to do something special for their first date, maybe next year when Copter turned 18. But the boy is so impatient. They've been texting for just a month and Copter already wanted to take the next step.
It's not that Kimmon wasn't dying to spend time with Copter. He's just scared that it would be too soon. Copter is still seventeen although the boy had been insisting that 17 means he's old enough.
Now, Kimmon is in a dilemma. He hadn't got a way to explain Copter and gently cancel the date. Copter's school didn't allow phones.
Ultimately, he had no choice but to show up to the surprise date.
Then he panicked.
This is the first time they are meeting as potential lovers and Kimmon didn't even have anything to give Copter. He checked the time. He'd already clocked in, so he can't leave now. Maybe he can take a short leave later and get ready to meet Copter, properly.
Despite his fear he felt his heart beating fast with excitement. He's finally going to see Copter today, face to face.
