"What are we going to do?" Copter asked nibbling on the plastic straw of his soda. "I know we have like till the end of this year but we should have a plan or something before that, don't you think?" He glanced at his lover's tall, lean form sprawled next to him on the cement bench, immersed in deep thoughts.
Meeting each other had become really hard. Copter felt that the whole world had somehow ganged up against them. This was the first time they were meeting in person after Copter's trip and he was already into the fourth week of the school term.
Today Copter convinced his mother to let him go to the park with his friends. She reluctantly gave consent, grumbling that his father would get angry if he found out.
His freedom had always been limited. But it had never been this tough for him before. He wondered if the engagement to Joss had anything to do with it. Thankfully, he had great supportive friends. The picnic in the park was their way of letting Copter and Kimmon have a serious talk, face-to-face.
"I think I will talk to your dad directly." Kimmon stroked his thumb down his sharp jawline. Copter felt this insane urge to lean close and follow the path of his thumb with his lips, just to feel the stubble scrape against his soft skin. "It's the proper thing to do." Kimmon tilted his head, looking at him with intent. "Don't you think?" Copter blushed. He'd been having these inopportune erotic thoughts about Kimmon lately. Especially after that trip where he thought Kimmon was going to finally kiss him. His hormones had gone erratic ever since that day.
"Um...." Copter cleared his throat. "He wouldn't listen to you."
"I would make him believe that I can take care of you, that I love you and we love each other," Kimmon muttered fists balling tightly. "He can't be that unreasonable than not letting a man explain his side, can he?"
"You don't know my dad," Copter murmured gloomily. "He's stubborn like a mule when it comes to decision-making."
"If he's stubborn then so am I," Kimmon said confidently. "I'll make him listen to me."
Copter laughed softly at how serious his boyfriend was.
"Let's not get work up about it now." He reached out and intertwined his fingers through the older man's long slim fingers. "Joss had been texting me and I've been very unresponsive, only replying with monosyllabic words. Let's hope he'll get the hint that I'm not interested in him and move on from me." He said confidently.
"Let's hope." Kimmon nodded but there wasn't much conviction in his voice. Then his face brightened. "Forget about the depressing thoughts. Let's focus on your birthday." He smiled enthusiastically. "There are only a few more weeks to go."
"Yeah." Copter smiled but with less enthusiasm.
"Come on." Kimmon gently pushed his shoulder with his. "You'll be eighteen."
"And there will be a big gala." Copter rolled his eyes.
Kimmon laughed at Copter's sceptical look.
"So, what do you want for your eighteenth birthday?" He asked eagerly.
