Adrenaline Crash

Sunday evening, Eric had stayed up late playing video games, and only had a few hours of sleep before it was time to go to work the next day.

He figured that the 1 way he was going to stay awake was caffiene. So, he had 2 cups of coffee.

In the afternoon, the caffiene was stating to wear off. Then he remembered he packed an energy drink, which he drank. Which worked pretty well, even though it made him pretty chipper.

He thought he would be going home early that day, but the case was still going on in the evening. Which meant another cup of coffee and some doughnuts.

Finally, at midnight, the case was over. By that time, he was so wiped, he figured he'd just close his eyes on the couch for just a minute.

Before noon

Eric woke up to Hetty sitting close to him.

'Hey. What time is it?' He asked, groggily.

'Some minutes before noon.' She replied.

'Have I really been asleep for that long?'

'Well, considering you practically ran all day yesterday on caffiene, I'm surprised you didn't crash sooner! Why did you consume all that stuff anyways?'

'The night before, I was playing video games with a friend. I didn't realize how late it had gotten until I finally stopped, which led to only getting a few hours of sleep. And I didn't want to fall asleep at work, so I fueled myself on caffiene and adrenaline.' Eric said.

'And how do you feel right now?' Hetty asked.

'Not too good, like really hungry and thirsty!'

'Well. Be thankful you weren't behind the wheel or on the staircase when you 'crashed'. Now, if you can get up off the couch, I can take you to the kitchen for some proper food and drinks.' Hetty said.

'Oh that'd be amazing! And um Hetty, did I do anything weird yesterday while I was on that high?'

'Other then hugging me and saying thank you over and over again when I gave you good news?' Hetty thought. 'No. No you didn't.'
