Callen and Hetty were talking over a couple of drinks.

'You're not the only 1 who's had to deal with childhood trauma, Mr. Callen.' She said.

'How so?'

'When I was young, 2 intruders came to my house. They ransacked the house, and when my adoptive father tried to stop them, he was shot.'

'Oh my! Did he live?' Callen asked.

'Barely. I was in the basement the whole time, I could hear all the chaos from below. I was the one who called for help after the intruders left. It was very nerve wracking.' Hetty said.

'I can imagine. Were you hurt?'

'No. They thankfully didn't think to go down there.'

'Well, if they did, I bet they would've met their untimely demise. (chuckle).' Callen said.

Giving him a sad look. 'Actually, chances are I could've died trying to fight them. I didn't have any of the self defense skills I have now. In fact, that incident is what made me want to take self defense classes.' Hetty replied.

'Oh. Were you even a teenager then?'

'No.'

'Wow. We, have a lot more in common then we both care to admit.' Callen said.

'We do. Not that that's a bad thing.' Hetty replied.

'Thank you for deciding to share this with me.'

'You're welcome, Mr. Callen.'
