'Deeks, are you sure you're okay?' Kensi asked.

'Yes, I'm fine! This weird feeling I have right now, is just a cold! It'll pass.' Deeks replied, confident.

'If you say so.'

That night, Kensi woke up to check on Deeks, and his head was burning up.

'Oh my goodness, Deeks, wake up!'

'Moan. Why do I feel so hot, and (cough cough cough!).'

'Oh dear oh dear! I think we need to go to the hospital!'

At the hospital

'This started yesterday?' The doc asked.

'Yes, he insisted it was just a cold. I woke up, and he was burning up and started having breathing problems! I didn't know what to do, so I brought him here.' Kensi replied.

'Well, the breathing thing is definitely an issue. We'll keep him here for the day and monitor his condition. If things improve, We could release him tonight.'

Kensi called Hetty and said she wasn't coming into work that day.

Throughout the day, Deeks drifted in and out of consciousness, and barely said a word. Kensi needed a distraction, so she got a pen and a pad of paper, and started writing her thoughts.

'Hey Deeks. I needed a distraction, so I'm writing stuff down, like this is a journal. I have no idea if I'll ever show you this, so I hope you don't find this.

'Hetty came by earlier to check in on us. She could tell I was blaming myself for not catching onto your increased illness sooner, so she said there are times when she can't even tell what's wrong with Granger, and she often blames herself for not catching onto those incidents sooner. Which I guess helps, in a way.

When I woke up and felt how hot you were, I was really scared you were going to die! The doc said you could be sent home tonight, so that's helpful.

When you get better, Let's go somewhere fun.'

That night

'Well, his condition has improved. Do you feel confident about monitoring his condition at home?' The doc asked.

'Yes. He also wants to go home.' Kensi responded.

'Okay, I'll get the discharge papers.'

'How you feeling, baby?' She asked Deeks.

'Tired, a bit embarrassed that it got this bad out of the blue.' Deeks replied.

'Well, at least you're okay.'

'I'm glad I'm okay too.'

'Say, when you get better, you want to go somewhere fun?' Kensi asked.

'Ooh, sounds interesting. Like where?'

'I don't know, where would you like to go?'

'Ooh. I can think of a few places!' Deeks said.
