Hetty went overseas to assist in the rescue of a soldier being held hostage. A month later, she was still there.

'What do you mean you still can't go home?! Didn't they rescue that soldier today?' Granger asked, when Hetty called into OPS.

'They did, and were successful. But apparently, they need me for something else.' Hetty replied.

'For what?'

'I don't know! I've tried asking, but 'details are still forthcoming'.'

'This is ridiculous! There's no reason for you to still be there!'

'Look, I'll get this sorted out tomorrow, and I'll call you with an update. I need to get some rest now.' Hetty said.

Granger wasn't going to wait. An entire month had gone by, and he wanted his wife back PRONTO!

The next day, he flew to where Hetty was stationed, and went to talk to the person in charge.

'I'm here to take Miss Lange home. She's completed her mission, and her people need her back home.' Granger said.

'I'm aware of that, sir. But something has come up, and it requires Miss Lange's assistance.' The CO replied.

'Like what? What is so important that you need the Operations Manager of the Office of Special Projects yo be here longer then she should?!'

'Without Miss Lange's assistance on this rescue mission, we most likely would not have gotten our friend back. She is the toughest negotiator that we've ever seen! Her services are very much needed here.'

'I don't care! You have her for 1 mission, then you decide to keep her for another. What next? 3 more missions?! She has a job back home in America, and she needs to get back home!' Granger said, sternly.

'And where do you get to tell me what to do?'

'I'm the Assistant Director to NCIS, and Miss Lange is my wife! And I'm taking her home! And there is nothing you can do about it! Now tell me where she's staying!'

On the plane home

'That bitch!' Hetty exclaimed when Granger told her about why she was being told to stay.

'Yeah, I know.' Granger replied.

'Well, I would've dealt with this myself, but thank you.'

'Hey, we're married. We're supposed to protect each other.'
