"No, no, no, don't leave me! Don't go! Noooo!" I screamed and suddenly woke up. It was in the middle of the night and I was having another nightmare. It wasn't just any nightmare but the one I had been dreaming over and over again, every single night.
Louis was standing in front of me and then he smiled and walked away from me. He just left me and he was actually happy. It gets worse. I screamed after him trying to run but I couldn't move. Then there was another girl with long curly black hair wearing a perfect dress and she was so beautiful. She was smiling and at first it looked like he was about to pass her but he didn't. He stopped and kissed her. I cried after them:
"Why are you leaving me? Why?!" But they didn't notice me anymore and I felt so invisible. My voice was staring to get lost and I felt myself disappearing into void.
"Not again. Why does this keep on happening?" I asked myself staring at the ceiling covered in tears. Once again all these questions appeared in my mind. I was still shaking and I was starting to doubt Louis a little. The nightmares didn't make sense to me and even though at first they felt stupid, they seemed less stupid every day.
I was so confused I didn't even check what time it was. I just put my pillow over my head and after a while I fell back asleep.
"Ashley!! Ash, not again!" And that's how Monica's words told me I was late... Again. I only had about 10 minutes to get ready, only 10 minutes! I looked like a mess and I was really lucky because we had Mrs. Johnson's class.
"Well, well, well. Let me guess: It's Ashley's fault right? Or perhaps I'm impossibly wrong?" She rudely laughed at us, not letting us speak as she continued: "At least we're not having an exam." She sighed adding what wasn't necessary.
Usually, I would be disappointed but this time. I didn't have time to worry about some teacher who hated me. And besides I just couldn't stop thinking about Louis and my dream. No, nightmare. I wasn't paying attention at all and every time Ms Johnson called me, I never knew the right answers. I just couldn't concentrate and I got detention.
The school bell finally rang and I stopped in front of my locker leaning against it with a few books still in my hands. I was buried deep into my thoughts when...
"Ashley, can I talk to you?" I turned around and saw no one else but... Will. He caught me by surprise showing up like that, out of nowhere and without thinking I hissed at him:
"What?!"
"Ashley, listen please. I'm so sorry, you have no idea how much I really am. I was so stupid to break..." I stopped him:
"Yeah, yeah, yeah I don't care..." I rolled my eyes and then I said: "I'd probably do the same if you hadn't done that." I didn't know where those words were coming from but I kept talking: "You actually made things a lot easier for me, you know?" I finally managed to stop myself and realized how harsh I really sounded.
"What are you talking about??" Will asked confused.
"Will, why are we even having this conversation? We broke up everything's fine." I sighed.
"That's exactly why. I want you back." He said.
I almost laughed: "Will, you can't be all sweet to me and after I'm gone a few days just leave me. You can't win me back apologizing. I'm not stupid." At least I turned down my sarcasm.
"I know that. But it's not what you think." He answered disappointed.
"Oh come on. That line? Every other guy uses that." I rolled my eyes and then sighed: "But you don't really have to explain anything to me."
