"So," Sokka was saying, "Are we going to gloss over the fact that (Y/N) can bend two elements? Because I know it's been days, but no one's mentioning it."
I laughed, "Yes."
We were packing up and getting ready to leave after finding Fire Nation grade traps in the woods.
"I mean we have the Avatar, no problem adding the half-atar to the team too. Get it? Half-atar? Because you can bend two elements, while Aang can bend four, so you're the half-"
"We got it Sokka," Katara laughed.
"Tough crowd," Sokka said, "Well, are we still going to the North pole? Do we really have to if (Y/N) can just teach Aang?"
"We should definitely still go," I said, "My waterbending style is far from traditional, and I doubt I have the same teaching ability as a master from the north pole. I'll teach Katara and Aang for now, but only momentarily."
Sokka, Katara, and Aang all nodded.
I started to climb onto Appa, as I was done packing.
"Uh uh. No flying this time," Sokka said.
"Oh, come on," I groaned, "Why not?!"
"Yeah!" Aang said, "Why wouldn't we fly?"
"Think about it: Somehow Prince Zuko and the Fire Nation keep finding us. It's because they spot Appa, he's just too noticeable," Sokka said.
I glanced at the giant sky bison. I mean, Sokka kind of had a point.
"What? Appa's not too noticeable!" Katara said, shocked.
"He's a gigantic fluffy monster with an arrow on his head! It's kinda hard to miss him!" Sokka yelled, pointing at Appa dramatically.
I yawned, "Well then, how are we supposed to get around?!"
"Walk."
I groaned.
"I know you all wanna fly, but my instincts tell me we should play it safe this time and walk."
Katara smiled mischievously, "Who made you the boss?"
Sokka pointed his finger to his chest, "I'm not the boss, I'm the leader."
I doubled over, laughing.
"You're the leader? But your voice still cracks!" Katara said, causing me to laugh harder. My stomach throbbed from laughing, and I clutched it, gasping for air. Sokka glared at me, and I regained my composure.
Sokka's voice cracker, "I'm the oldest, and I'm a warrior, so," he deepened his voice, "I'm the leader!"
"If anyone's the leader, it's Aang. I mean he is the Avatar," Katara said.
"Are you kidding, he's just a goofy kid!" Sokka replied.
I glanced at Aang who was hanging upside down from Appa's horn.
"He's right," Aang and I said at the same time.
Katara shrugged, "Well then, (Y/N) should be the leader. She has the most battle experience, and is a master of two elements. Besides, she knows more than any one of us when it comes to the Fire Nation and Prince Zuko. I mean, look at how she's dressed."
I looked down at my clothes, "Yeah... I should be the leader! I like how you think Kat."
Katara laughed.
"No!" Sokka yelled, "I'm the leader!" He took a breath, "Look, my instincts tell me we have a better chance of slipping through on foot, and a leader has to trust his instincts."
