Chapter 44, Realization
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
" I don't care man, my car was almost totalled because I didn't keep my eyes on the road. "
~ Natalie James's POV ~
I stepped out of my car and made sure there were no scratches on it, I put my hands through my hair and took a deep breath.
This could've killed me, thank God I was able to swerve.
I saw headlights speeding towards me, Oh my God I already got away from getting harmed.
Do I really have to die this way, tonight as well!?
I watched as the car parked behind me and out came Javon, he ran to me and picked me up.
He twirled me around and once he placed me down, he apologized.
"I'm sorry, I should've believed you."
"Javon it's not your fa-"
He cut me off and continued apologizing, I stood there and heard him out.
This was what I wanted, so why did I feel bad?
I deserved an apology but it felt like I didn't, maybe I wasn't completely over him like I thought I was.
I smiled and accepted his apology, although I was mostly thinking about my car.
" I don't care man, my car was almost totalled because I didn't keep my eyes on the road. "
I said with a smile, he smiled back.
There was that very smile that made my day and made my night.
The smile that made the world stop and made me fall in love, we got into our cars and decided to drive to the diner together.
We bought our milkshakes and drove back to the set.
We were walking out of the parking lot, we made jokes and we were having a good time.
I put my things down and went over to the gates to stare at the stars.
He followed me with a smile, we stood there stargazing.
We named the stars since we never remembered their real names, but the constellations were very much intriguing.
I felt Javon's eyes on me, I looked back and smiled.
There was no words to be said, we were comfortable alone together again.
"I acted like a jerk didn't I?"
He asked while rubbing the back of his neck making me laugh at his nervousness.
If I didn't like him, I would've been so blunt about it but I do.
"A tiny bit, but you love her."
The words burnt like acid on my tongue, I looked down.
I was just upset at myself for not making a move on him, he lifted my head up by my chin.
We stared at each other for a moment, I wrapped my hands around his neck as he wrapped his around my waist.
My eyes flickering from his lips to his eyes and back again, he copied my movements.
We moved in slowly and sure enough our lips connected, they moved in sync.
It felt like this was the missing puzzle piece, we pulled away.
He looked at me and smiled, he pulled me in for another kiss.
We went slow, it was nice and it was just correct for the moment.
But all that was on my mind was Lola, I pulled away fast and pushed myself away from him.
He looked at me like he did something wrong, I forgot about her for an hour.
"Lola."
I said as I tried to catch my breath, even if it was slow it still took my breath away.
Javon shook his head and grabbed me by my waist.
"Her and I were never together, that I can promise you."
I got what I wanted, I smiled and kissed him.
Maybe this was a present from the universe to apologize for putting me through the wringer.
We stood there kissing, I felt like I was in a movie.
I would choose the song High Enough by K.flay.
I don't see anyone other than you, baby it's true.
We pulled away slowly, I looked at him with love.
He returned the same look, we took a minute.
There wasn't much to say at all, we kissed again.
The night felt magical to me.
I was finally happy, I finally felt like myself again and nothing could have changed that.
Or so I thought....
I'm already high enough, you got me, you got me good.
