"You're a punk," Bucky said with a grim smile. He pulled his scrawny friend, Steve, into a hug as he replied with:

"You're a jerk."

After bidding farewell to his friend, Steve entered the tent, right before bumping into someone.

"Oh, my gods! I am so sorry!" The girl yelped and bent down and collected her file. Steve grabbed a piece of paper with the simple stamp 1A in red ink in the corner of the paper.

Steve handed the paper back to her. He had to look way up to look into her eyes, which were a startling electric blue. They were brimming with excitement and nervousness. She was muttering to herself about being a clutz and straightening her unadorned curly blonde hair. He smiled at her, "So you're going to join the army, huh?"

Nodding, the girl grinned and brushed her hair behind her ear, "Yeah! I still can't believe it!" there was a shout in the distance and she glanced over at the source of the sound, she chuckled to herself, "Now, if you'll excuse me, I promised my cousins some drinks, and I always keep my promises. Bye!" she turned with a wave and jogged over to some oddly dressed teens wearing orange shirts and shorts. They all jumped up and cheered when she waved the file in the air before following her out of the expo.

Grinning, Steve headed in himself.

Steve had not expected to see the girl the other night at the army camp. She was dressed in the same outfit as him, which meant she was here for the program. And compared to the other recruits, she seemed like a giant. At least two inches taller than the tallest man.

"Oh, hey! I know you!" she called with a wave, a charming smile adorning her features.

"Hi." Steve returned the greeting, moving to stand next to her, just for a feeling of familiarity even though they had only met the other night.

"We didn't get a chance to introduce ourselves last night, but I guess we weren't expecting to meet again, so, my name is Katie Dakota Harper, daughter of the one and only Dakota June Harper. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance!" She introduced, giving him a sweeping bow as if he was royalty.

Steve laughed at Katie's exuberance. "Steven Grant Rogers. I'm Irish." he performed a less dramatic bow and Katie laughed.

"Recruits, attention!" a female voice called and immediately Katie's smile froze and she snapped to attention with hands behind her back and feet shoulder with the part. Steve tried to mimic her posture, but he didn't feel as if he brought the same presence.

A redhead stepped forward, leading a soldier carrying a crate of supplies, she introduced herself, "Gentlemen, my name is Agent Carter. I will be supervising your induction today." the soldier began to hand out papers and clipboards. "To begin, you'll need to complete this document."

Steve scanned the heading, Last Will and Testament, it read. Steve glanced at Katie's face which was set with a look that conveyed "Seriously?"

One of the recruits spoke up, "What's with the accent, Queen Victoria? I thought I was joining the US army."

Carter cocked her head curiously at him, "What's your name, soldier?"

"Gilmore Hodge, your majesty," he replied with a smirk.

Katie inhaled sharply and continued to flip through her papers.

"Put your right foot forward," Carter replied, which then followed with her punching Hodge onto the ground and Katie trying and failing not to laugh.
