"Mr. Stark!" Abraham shouted running up to the capsule.
Katie plopped down to the floor, trying to remain cognizant. She could barely feel her legs, and black spots danced in the corners of her eyes.
Howard crouched down next to her. "Hey, you good?" he handed her a canteen.
She popped the lid off and gulped the sweet nectar, letting the taste of peppermint cover her tongue. Feeling almost immediately returned to her legs and the fatigue turned to a dull throb.
"I am now. Thanks." She replied and rose shakily to her feet.
"You should probably go see your superhero," Howard smirked and moved around her to get to the machinery.
"My superhero?" Katie asked incredulously.
Howard grinned, "I know googly eyes when I see them, Kat."
"I hate you."
"I know."
PERSPECTIVE SWITCH!!!!! cause why not?
Steve's eyes wandered the throng of nurses and military figures looking for Katie.
When he spotted her, he noticed that she was moving slower and less graceful than before he went into the capsule, but she seemed alright.
Katie tossed a shirt at him. "How do you feel?"
The two were now almost the same height, Steve is just about an inch taller than her. "Taller."
Katie smirked, "You look taller."
Suddenly, a loud explosion sounds from the observation booth, sending screams and curses throughout the crowd. Steve hears a gunshot and sees Dr. Erskine flying back into the machinery.
"NO!" Katie yells and rushes over to her cousin. Steve follows.
"No no no no no," Katie whispers as she checks his wounds. The doctor smiled softly at the two of them, placing a hand on his heart, then stilled.
Tears were streaming down Katie's face. Thunder sounded ominously from outside. She stood, anger disrupting her features. She holds out a hand to her side and a long bronze sword appears. Gripping its hilt, she rushes forward, glitching to the top of the stairs and continuing out. Steve on her tail.
Steve exited the antique shop just in time to see Katie leap onto a car to try to catch a taxi zooming down the street. He quickly followed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Katie sniffled softly as the nurse drew her blood a couple of hours later.
She had never felt such uncontrollable rage it was like Ares himself had possessed her. she had been in such a blind rampage she had punched Steve in the face when he tried to get her to stop. He now had a gorgeous black eye.
"You think you've got enough?" Steve asked the nurse, rolling his shoulder.
Agent Carter had finally made an appearance, opting out of the experiment in favor of finishing up some paperwork.
"All of Dr. Erskine's research and equipment is gone," she explained, "Any hope of reproducing the program is locked in your guys' genetic code. But it would take years to decipher it." she sighed and leaned against the counter. "At the moment, you two are the only super soldiers in the world."
Katie stood after brushing off a bandage from a nurse. "So do something with us! I would rather not sit here and become a pincushion. There are plenty of Natzis and apparently, some mislead mythos out there that I would much rather become pincushions."
