Park Sunghoon.
Son of Park Jin-woo and Min Areum, the accident of a drunken father and a local waitress, the illegitimate son.
That's what flashed on TV every time he was mentioned.
When he transferred to a new school, those were the first whispers he would hear. All his life, Sunghoon was known for being the 'accidental child' of the CEO of Korea's leading tech company.
He was tied down to the title
Sunghoon doesn't remember much of his early life with his mother. Well, he wills himself not to. Not like his present life is any better though...
"Take the fucking child...you think I give two shits?" his mother drawled out drunkenly to the man at the doorstep. They lived in a dingy apartment down south, in an area infested with gangsters and crime.
He stayed with his mother up until he was 5. He'd never go to school. He was locked up in his room all day, and he saw other kids playing outside and envied them. He also wanted to play, he was also a child, and he also wanted to have fun.
His mother on the other hand didn't care. The 'beast', as she called him, just had to stay inside his room without making a sound, get fed three times a day, and go for a medical check-up once in a while.
So for 5 years, Sunghoon didn't know of anything outside the whitewashed and flaky walls of his tiny room. He didn't know anything besides the smell of alcohol and the broken shards of glass every time he stepped foot in the living room.
He knew nothing outside his prison of a life. So when he saw a well-dressed man with a tie and suit coming into their poorly maintained house, he was scared, intrigued, and curious.
"So this is him?" the man asked as he crouched down. His mother drowsily nodded. Sunghoon didn't know what to do. The man turned his chin up, inspecting him. He didn't like it, but he knew better than to push him away.
"I'll take him with me now, I'll give you the money by tomorrow morning," he stated finally, getting up and buttoning his jacket. "You heard him, get out!" his mother yelled pointing at him. Sunghoon scurried up, following the man out the door.
"Who are you?" he asked as they finally entered a fancy car. The questioned male turned to him.
"I'm your father, and you'll be living with me from now on. Forget about this life of yours and forget about your so-called mother. You'll have a new mother now and you'll have to respect her. In my house, there are rules to be followed, and the first is avoiding asking unnecessary questions. Do you understand?" the man stated lowly.
At first, Sunghoon was excited. He was seated in such a nice thing, a nice object. He had no idea what it was but it was comfy. He was finally outside and this man looked good. Now all of that was replaced by fear.
Was his life going to be any different?

Sunghoon's life was different.
He was no longer confined to the four corners of his whitewashed room.
He had a large master bedroom, carefully designed to match the reputation and name of the Park family.
He could go outside, he did interact with other people his age, and he didn't just eat stale bread and peanut butter. There were carefully cooked dishes served to his family and he went to school at one of the most prestigious academies in the country.
