Jay was now a father.
It was one of the scariest yet most beautiful realisations. Scary because he was now the pillar and scripter of his child's life. He never had a father figure in his life to trust and his affinity with his own parents was nothing above a business proposal.
However, it was beautiful because he had a chance to be everything his parents never were. He had a chance to give his son the world and everything else.
The boy could hardly open his eyes, yet Jay loved him more than anything in the world.
The first time he held his son in his arms, he knew that he would offer his life to protect him. He had never undergone anything like it before.
Park Sunoo was going to grow up to be whatever he wanted. All Winter and Jay needed from him was his happiness and for him to be a kind and strong person.
The two had propelled away with their son to an isolated house, far away from Seoul. It was located in a small village in Daegu, miles from the city. There was no fancy living room, two-storey apartment, or weird glass windows.
The house was austere and bare.
It had a low table in the centre of the living room, with a carpet and cushions for seating. There were three small bedrooms with a miniature clothes cupboard and study desk.
Electricity and internet were almost non-existent, but Jay had managed to set up a stable enough connection that gave them a light, fan and two-bar Wi-fi.
This would be their getaway lodging for the next few years.
The two parents intended to raise Sunoo here for at least six months. It was ambitious viewing the background and name they bore, but nothing could be compromised for their little one.
"You think we'll be fine?" Winter asked on their third day there. Jay sighed as he looked at the night sky from the doorway. "We'll be okay, our only worry is that our parents find out where we are, but I trust Sunghoon and I know that he'll be able to handle them. Let's just focus on Sun-"
They were cut off by noisy wailing.
"Oh boy, I'll go handle him," Jay scurried off to the little nursery they had made to put Sunoo back to sleep. Winter groaned and snuggled into the couch, tired from rocking her son and singing lullabies.
They had more than enough going on here.

Back in Seoul. Sunghoon was an argument away from punching someone in the face. The pure agony he had to go through simply to let his nephew grow up in peace was absurd.
Firstly, he had to have a conversation with his in-laws and parents.
"I don't get why we can't see him! At least tell us where they went!" Mr Kim shouted. Sunghoon inhaled deeply and tried his best to keep his poise.
"Sir, please understand, the reason they have gone is for Sunoo's well-being. As the child of such big names, the press is bound to make life a hell for him and it doesn't matter how much we pay them. This is too big for even money to handle. That's why Jongseong and Winter have decided to keep him away for a few months, till things calm down."
