Jay's heart thumped against his ribcage, his hands clammy and his legs turning to jelly. He couldn't quite comprehend what was happening at the moment.

He was being driven to his hotel by none other than Lee Heeseung, who he had no prior interaction with.

The drive had been awkwardly silent. Jay hadn't dared to look at Heeseung but he could feel the latter stealing glances at him now and then.

However, he did not say a word.

It baffled Jay. The man had decided to drop him home, yet had not spoken to him about what he wanted.

Suddenly, Jay was reminded of Sunghoon. His brother was simply an awkward guy that could often come off as cold, and he usually just wanted to do something nice for people.

Maybe there was no actual intent behind Heeseung's gestures. Perhaps, beneath the intimidating facade, there was simply a man who chose his alliances carefully.

Maybe Heeseung just wanted to do something nice.

"This is the place I assume?"

Heeseung's voice snapped Jay out of his trance. He looked out the window and saw the looming building of his hotel stare at him.

"Oh yeah, it is. Thank you, um why did you want to come here?"

Heeseung chuckled as he looked out the other window. "I just wanted to give you a ride, that's all," he said.

He finally turned to look at Jay. His eyes held so much sincerity and for a minute Jay froze, shocked by what he saw.

In his world, this was rare.

"Oh...um thank you."

"You're welcome."

Silence fell over the two as Jay stayed stuck in his seat. Just as Heeseung opened his mouth, Jay cut him off. "Would you care for a drink upstairs?"

The words were out of his mouth before he could have time to think. This was, by all means, a bad idea. One could never trust a man so easily in this industry, let alone invite them to your room to have a drink... all alone.

However, all safety measures had left Jay's brain. The part of his mind that was trained to be cautious screamed at him to take back his words, but his gut nudged him firmly. He had to invite Heeseung.

The man seemed shocked for a moment, his dark doe eyes losing their intimidating aura and turning bewildered. However, he quickly recovered.

"Sure."

"Do you drink wine or beer?" Jay asked as he rummaged through his mini fridge. Heeseung was behind him on one of the sofas. "Uh anything is fine really," he said.

Jay pulled out two bottles of soju and set them on the coffee table in the middle of the sofas. He sat down opposite Heeseung and popped off the cap of both bottles before handing one to Heeseung.

"Cheers," said Jay as he raised his bottle. "Cheers," Heeseung noted before taking a sip of the beer. Jay drank his own and felt the familiar burning liquid run down his throat.

"So, how has Paris been for you?" Jay asked as he set his bottle back down. "I've not been able to explore the city too much, I was here only for a night, but it seems quite pleasant," said Heeseung.
