//chapter 16

3rd person POV

Chin's eyes fluttered open, he sat up and rubbed his eyes "huh.." he grunted out, it appeared as if he had fallen asleep in Clay's bed, while cuddling one of his old capes. "Damnit.." Chin grunted out again putting his hand up to his forehead in dissapointment 'I thought I stopped doing this' he thought to himself carefully going out from Clay's bed and fixing it before leaving, still holding Clay's cape as if it were a plushie. He went to the kitchen seeing Grace already awake and making pancakes "oh! Goodmorning Chi- oh, it happened again didn't it?" she cut herself off asking a question, according to her reaction this had happend multiple times, Chin nodded sleepily "I still miss him Grace, I can't help but think I could've maybe helped him.." He said sadly looking down at the soft white cape that belonged to their lost friend. Grace looked at what he was holding and sighed "you know, doesnt matter if he's gone or not" Chin looked up confused 

"I still gotta wash that cape" 

Chin immediatly snatched the cape up in the air so Grace couldn't reach it despite being almost just as tall as Chin "how dare you..." he snarled, squinting his eyes at her. Grace laughed "look, I know you don't want me to, cause it'll take away his smell but cmon man, it stinks!" Chin didn't say anything, he just looked at the cape and sniffed it, immediatly regretting his disicion "eugh! that's-" he stopped what he was saying looking at Grace from the side of his eyes thinking "that...that smells uh- beautifully?-" he said confused by his own words. Grace burst out laughing at his reaction and Chin blushed slightly from embarrassment. 

Chin sat down on one of the chairs next to the island in the kitchen and grabbing a cup of milk, sipping it as he was practically patting the inner part of the cape. 

"look Chin, I know you miss him and I know that cape has his smell, but it also got lots of your gross sweat on it" Chin looked to the side thinking about it, putting down his cup "will you give me another of his capes then? or maybe something else?" Grace giggled and nodded "yes of course mr.simp" Chin immediatly started blushing like a tomato from embarrassment "HEY I'M NO SIMP" Grace giggled again before patting his shoulder and taking the disgusting smelling cape away from him and going to the washing room
