"Foggy, Foggy, Foggy." Matt reaches for his phone, placing it to his ear "Good morning
Sunshine." His best friend Foggy Nelson's voice chimes over the line. "Hi Foggy what's up?" Matt asks. He slides out of his bed to open his closet picking up his signature black suit, shirt, and tie. "Oh, you know just checking in, did you ask out that barista, C- Cassandra wasn't that her name?" Matt chuckles lightly. "Her names Chloe Foggy and no I didn't manage to."
"Mattt come on! You said you would." Foggy was constantly nagging his best friend about his love life, Matt acted as if he was a reclusive old man and there wasn't really anything out there for him."Er Fogg...It's just not really the right time right now."
"Matt, it will never be the right or even perfect time. Carpe diem seize the day!"
"It's a little early in the morning to be quoting dead poets society, don't you think?"
"No, you're just too grumpy, but hey I'll see you in the office in a bit yeah."
"Ok, see you later Foggy."
"Oh! One more thing! Can you get me a pretzel on the way in?"
"Sure thing."
"Alright bye for real now."
"Bye."
Now dressed, Matt makes his way into the main part of his apartment. It was a practical space for him so he could easily locate anything he needed. The floors were polished wood. In the centre of the room where two grey sofas facing each other and between them a low rectangular coffee table. It was littered with various papers, folders and cups of herbal tea. A piano is situated in the corner, dust free, which sounds often trickled out slow and smooth like honey or depending on his mood choppy like waves and hard and sharp like hale. Above the piano was a painting of New York city, constructed of different hues of red and orange. In the far right his small kitchenet. He often struggled to stock up on food, due to his conflicting schedule, but tried to fuel his hobby as much as he could.
In the corner near the coat rack lay his dog Tess. As soon as she senses Matt is in the room she leaps towards him, Matt gets onto his knees stroking her head lovingly. "Hey girl, hey." She sprints around him excitedly in circles.
Matt stands up and fills her up a bowl of food and another with water. "Bon appetite." Tess pants in anticipation and then laps up the water hurriedly. When she finishes Matt fishes her leash, grabs his coat, stick, and finally slides on his circular red tinted glasses. Hesitantly he glances towards his bedroom where his second persona lingers in the darkness and the dust. It beckons him, tantalizing like Pandora's box. He snaps his head forward. Right now, right now, it's time to be Matt Murdock.
