Matt guides a pain-stricken Jules towards his bathroom. After witnessing what they had, Matt suggested they go back to his place and recuperate. Jules was hesitant to the idea but eventually gave in. Being alone at the moment didn't seem particularly enticing.

He guides her to the stool in the middle of the bathroom. Jules sits, sinking into herself. "Okay Jules, I'm gonna run the bath for you now."

"Hmm." She responds. Matt turns the two knobs winding the hot on full blast and turning the cold halfway, so the bath was a comfortable temperature. He takes the soap and squeezes a drizzle into the center of the water. Matt leaves the room momentarily searching for a towel, flannel, and something for Jules to wear. He puts everything on the top of the laundry hamper and kneels down infront of Jules. He places his hands on her knees. "J, you gonna be okay in here?" He moves his thumb softly over her right knee. Jules clears her throat. "Yeah, I'll be okay thanks." Matt stands. "Just call me if you need anything."

He closes the door behind him. He hated seeing his girl hurting. That she was being screwed around like this. She's really trying her best but kept getting stuck in webs of deception.

"Woof! Woof!" Tess jumps onto Matt's lap and nestles closer into him on the couch. She missed being away from him, as she'd been with the neighbor the whole day. Matt sighs, letting his head flop backwards. He strokes Tess's head deep in thought.

He knew when the full picture was being obscured and his senses where tingling. Hoffman was kidnapped and targeted and now these agents. That's no coincidence, it had to be connected. He had a feeling that Jameson wasn't working alone. To coordinate an attack that big he must have someone powerful in his corner. However, Matt doubted why any self-respecting criminal would work with him. He's too much of a showoff. He likes to style his crimes in grandiose ways. He kills too openly and doesn't clean up his messes properly. He's already puts himself on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s radar, which is a number one way of getting yourself caught. That alone should steer criminals away from him.

It was a mess, sure. But Matt was in this now. From Jules recounts he knew what this guy was capable of and as long as he kept hurting people, he had to do something. He vowed to protect his city. He also promised Jules that he would never let Jameson touch her.

Suddenly he froze in his tracks. This is the thing about a double life. You can't be in two places at once and somewhere, you'll be stretched thin. Karen and Foggy knew about his other half, the truth eventually came out. However, it did cause a strain in their relationship. He couldn't always be 100% committed. They'd worry and tell him Daredevil was consuming him. He would retort back that he couldn't ignore the red flags infront of him. Physically he couldn't. he could hear an old lady calling for help. Armed robberies. Drunken men harassing girls on their way home. All of it. He couldn't give Daredevil up. He wasn't gonna stop. He could sit there and drown in the responsibility, but he figured God made him this way for a reason. That was his cross to bear.

Matt moves Tess from his lap onto the couch and walks over to his piano. He found that playing loosened his nerves and over the years he'd become quite good. He started playing Claire de lune, one of his favorites. Matt let himself get lost in the gradual building delicate melody, he moved his fingers over the keys with expertise. He was so focused he didn't notice Jules standing above him, making him pause in surprise. Her so familiar scent was only left as a residue on her skin. It was now overpowered by the smell of his soap. Jules sits next to him on the piano stool. "Matty keep going, that was beautiful." He resumes and Jules closes her eyes, its only when he reaches the last note that she opens them again.

Jules quickly reaches forward. She strokes along Matt's knuckles, hard and calloused from his years of fighting. Her touch is light and gentle making Matt inhale a breath. Jules continues stroking upwards to the ends of his fingers. She couldn't take it. Hiding the feelings she had for him. From what she witnessed earlier; you have people in your life. Then for a second, you turn away. And they're gone. Forever.

Matt was in awe and honestly quite overwhelmed. He knew there was something between him and Jules but already had a million thoughts running through his head a day. Sure, he was protective of Jules but never fully let himself go there and address his feelings. He had so much on his shoulders and often people close to him tended to get hurt.

Jules lifts his hand from the piano placing a trail of kisses along his wrist then to his palm and fingers. "Jules..." Matt murmurs barely above a whisper. She take his face into her hands running her finger through the stubble placing kisses along his jaw. Matt leans into her gripping her waist tightly. What are you doing Murdock? Your acting just like your father. Taking whatever you want, no mind for the other people. Only to not fulfil your promises, to leave. You won't be good for her.

Jules kisses Matt's cheeks moving to his eyelids and then finally to his lips. She feels the knot in her stomach unwind slowly as their kiss deepens. Matt sighs and trails his hand over her ribs, to her chest, over the curve of her throat and then through her hair. This isn't going to work. You will destroy each other. Jules leans into him, resting her hand on his upper thigh. She wanted to freeze the moment. So, she could somehow relive this repeatedly. To be able have the feeling of Matt's lips to her. His possessive grasp on her. His skin to her skin. Matthew come on, think this through.

Matt pulls away abruptly. "Jules, what are we doing?" Jules frowns and pulls at the back of her neck. "It's just you're my best friend and.." He runs both hands through his hair and steps away from the piano. "And what Matt?" Jules narrows her eyes at him. "Today was a hard day for you. I know that place meant a lot to you and i... I want to help you catch this guy but..." Jules laughs sarcastically. "No, no Matt don't do that. Don't try to cover it up by talking about the mission." Then it dawns on her. "You think I kissed you because I was just upset and needed somebody. That I'm using you as a coping mechanism." Matt shrugs, his jaw tightening. "Jules, I've known you a long time, I know you do stuff impulsively. Look I'm not gonna hold it against you- "

"Fuck you Matt."

"Jules- "

"No Matt! I kissed you because I've been wanting to do it. I meant it. Maybe yeah, it was impulsive. But I meant it." Jules voice shakes. "I meant it." Matt shakes his head. "Jules it was unfair of you to do that. To just kiss me out of the blue. You say it has nothing to do with earlier, but that timing is awfully strange." Matt paces along the middle of the room. "Look if I'm gonna kiss someone I really care about, I would want it to be at a neutral moment. You know...We just came back from dinner and I'm walking them home. Make it special."

"What, so it wasn't special? Matt, you held onto me, you kissed me back."

"Shit Jules don't do that. Don't twist my words around." Jules storms over to Matt looking him straight in the face. "You know this whole conversation you've avoided talking about how kissing me felt. Forget all the logistical timing bullshit and how you should do things Matt. How did it make you feel? Like really feel?" Matt's shoulders dip and he sinks his hands into his pockets. "You think that stuff doesn't matter. But it does. It matters to me."

"Matt all I've ever wanted is for you to be honest. You hide from yourself; you don't let anyone in."

"Jules, you know that's not true. I let you in."Jules shakes her head sadly. "So, what are we doing right now Matt?"

I hope this fight make sense. I wanted to show both their perspectives and how they're both right and wrong at the same time.
