"Jules?" She hears her name being called from the main room in Matt's apartment. She sprints towards the sound of his voice and jumps into his arms. Tess follows suit and jumps up at Matthew and he strokes behind her ears. Jules manages to free herself from his grasp and punches him in the arm. "Ow, Jules!?"
"You should have called Matty! I was wondering what happened to you!"
"Ohh, so you do worry about me?" Matt flirts. "Ughhh, you know what I mean!" Matt pulls Jules closer to him by her arm and softens his tone. "I'm sorry." She slowly removes his glasses and tucks them into the top of his shirt. Matt strokes the back of her head with his left hand and kisses her forehead. Jules goes onto her tiptoes and swiftly moves her head upwards so that their lips connect. Matt smiles into the kiss. She grips his waist and pushes him against the wall.
Matt gradually moves his hands up Jules leg, to her thigh and then slowly to the top of her shorts (well his shorts) she's wearing. Jules further presses into him and breaks their kiss to look into his eyes. "Later." She says with a smirk. Matt laughs and his tongue pokes the inside of his cheek. Jules moves both of her hands through his hair. "So ... What did you find at Homeland?"
-------------------
Matt and Jules sit on the couch and he gives her a rundown of events. Working with Madani, the underground base networks, the super army Fisk is building, meeting with Karen, and finding out the highly probable location of Wilson Fisk. When he's finished speaking Jules stares at him in astoundment. "Holy fucking shit."
"I know. I know." Jules frowns and gets up from the couch and reaches for a stack of papers on the coffee table. "What is it?" She picks up a few sheets of paper and waves them at Matt. "These!" "Sweetheart you know I can't read that, right?" Jules slaps her hand over her mouth. "Shit!" Matt starts breaking up into laughter. "If only I could see your face right now!" Jules smiles and rolls her eyes. "Well, that's what your imagination is for." She sits back down. "Anyways when I was decoding the information I found these different sets of numbers, I thought it was random at the time. But... now I'm thinking they could be coordinates." Matt nods. "I mean its worth a shot." Jules rubs her hands together. "So, how are we gonna do this?"
"Well, we're gonna need a boat, if I ask nicely enough, I think Madani could get us one. For obvious reasons you should steer. Uhhh wherever Fisk's base is, there will be an out-of-place surge of electricity."
"I think the safest thing would be to do this in phases." Jules adds. "Stake it out. Locate Fisk's approximate location and get familiar with all escape routes." Matt hums in agreement. "Then with that information we can make a concrete plan to go after Fisk." Like dusts it starts to settle on Jules how close they're getting. What's coming. Going head-to-head with one of their biggest enemies. She picks at a loose thread on her shorts.
"Yeah. I can ask Jess to drop off some of my equipment. I asked her to hide it somewhere safe so S.H.I.E.L.D couldn't take it in for evidence."
Jules gets up from the couch and looks out of Matt's window. Her stomach ties itself in knots. Jules always tried to be as honest with Matt as she could. So many people had lied or kept things from him throughout his life, she didn't want to be that person. She would hate to be that person.
Matt comes up from behind Jules and wraps his arms around her, burying his face in her hair. "Hey, what's wrong?" He rubs his thumb comfortingly on the back of her hand. Jules bites her lip. "Matt I've been thinking..."
"Uh huh."
"Y'know about Jameson...Fisk. How putting them in jail might not solve the problem." She turns to face Matt. "I don't want to give them the chance to hurt even possibly anyone else. I think if the opportunity present itself... I need to- "
"Jules." Matt squeezes her hands. "Are you seriously sure about that?" His eyes wander in a slight panic. "I heard you when where lying by your friends body, I had no idea you were still thinking about it though." Jules crosses her arms and looks towards the floor. "Matty. I know this is a big moral for you. I'm not asking you to help me do it. I'm just. I just want you to know. I have to. Just this once." Matt sighs. "Jules once you cross that line you can never come back from something like that. It blurs your views on everything."
"Jules, I don't kill to spare them. I do it for myself. It's one of the few things that I have for myself. I've looked into the eyes of terrible people, and God I wanted to destroy them, rip them to shreds. but I didn't. I can't let them change who I am. I have that rule to separate myself from the criminals."
Jules shakes her head. "See Matt, that's the thing. I have done terrible things. I've followed orders because it's apart of the job. I've tortured people to near death. I think putting a bullet in Fisk would be more humane than that."

"Matt I'm not the same girl you met at eleven. I've lost that blissful ignorance. I have become something that past me maybe would've feared. But that's kept me safe. She's kept me moving forward." Matt grips onto both of her hands. "I believe, maybe if you don't. that she's still in there somewhere Jules. Don't let her be completely snuffed out."
"Matty you can't protect me from everything. Some things I'll have to do alone."
"I don't want to lose you Jules."
"Matty, I don't either. But I can expect to kill and have you look at me the same way. It wouldn't be fair, it would tear you up inside, knowing what I'd done." Tears start to glisten in Matt's eyes. "I don't wanna put that on you to walk away." A few tears fall onto Matt's cheeks, and he pulls at the back of his hair. "You're right." His voice cracks in pain. "I don't think I can sacrifice that." He shakes his head roughly and wipes his eyes. "We're thinking several steps ahead though. It might not even come to that. Things can go so many ways. There can't only be two options. Death or any regular jail."
"Matty-"
"No Sweetheart. Come on. I just got you back. Even though we've been having a shitty time. We've had each other. The past six months we haven't been around each other... I'd play that record you got me every damn day just so I could be close to you." Matt swallows. "I never thought this would happen to me. That I would find someone. But she's been by my side. All these years. Jules. I've loved you ever since I've known you. Don't let this be it okay. Please?"
"You love me?" Jules whispers in awe. Matt cups her face with his hands. "That's right Jules Ward. I love you." Jules leans forward and presses her lips to his in a passionate kiss. "Fuck, Matthew Murdock. You do have a way with words." He smiles. "I didn't notice. It's almost like I'm a lawyer or something." She kisses his nose. "I don't want this to be it Matty. I hope you're right, that there will be another way. For the sake of us." She pulls him by his tie, walking backwards towards his bedroom. "Is it later now?" Matt asks eagerly. Jules giggles. "Yeah."
