Chapter 02

Tonight was the night that i'm gonna go to the carnival to meet Liam. I wore a white kimono with sakura patterns and let my mom tie the ribbon behind me.

"You have a date?" My mom asked.

"No mom. I'm really just gonna go there to have fun with my friends." I lied.

"Ah Friends. That's what i used to say as an excuse back when i was younger just to see your father"

She chuckled and fixed my hair.

"Someone asked me out for a date. He said that we should meet at the carnival." I nervously smiled.

"See? Mama is always right. Just have fun Mija. I don't want anything bad happening to you" She smiled before kissing my forehead.

I waved goodbye and walked away. I'm just gonna walk since the carnival was just a few blocks from my house.

I've heard a few motorcycles passing by. They were really fast. I just minded my own business and walked towards the carnival.

I stopped my tracks and noticed Sanzu at the distance. He was with someone who was big and taller than him, he's also wearing a gang uniform.

I hid behind the wall, hoping he wouldn't notice me but then i bumped into Liam.

"Y/n?"

I awkwardly waved at him.

"You look beautiful..I-I wasn't really expecting you to be here.." He smiled.

"Thanks. Uh. Let's go?" I asked.

"Sure. But first." He pointed at his hand. Waiting for me to hold it.

"Yeah.." I chuckled and held on his hands as we both walked towards the carnival.

I completely forgot about Sanzu, and just walked past him like he was nothing.

He noticed the both of them, specially the hands. He looked at Mucho and nodded.

"Where do you wanna ride first?" He asks.

"Hmm. The ferris wheel maybe?" He agreed and we both went in to get our tickets.

The ride was finished really quick but fun and then he asked me if i'm hungry. He said that he'll treat me.

"Wait here. I'll grab us some food"

I nodded as i patiently waited for him but then i saw Sanzu and his friend walking around the area.

Where are they going? Thats weird. I thought.

"Y/n. Here. I bought us some corndogs." I smiled as he handed me the corndogs, hiding my face from Sanzu.

"You okay? Is there something bothering you?! Do i make you uncomfortable?!" He asks.

"N-no Liam. I'm fine. Thank you for taking me out tonight." I smiled and took a bite of the corndog.

"No prob. I've liked you since we were in kindergarten. But you seem to be close to one of that bald headed kid" He sighed.

"Bald headed?" I questioned.
