I've been back home for a couple of days now as I was in my bed sleep and felt my phone vibrate and heard it ding. I just opened my eyes as the sun was breaking through my curtains. After stretching I finally grabbed my phone seeing a text from an unknown number. I unlocked my phone beginning to read the text.

Unknown:
I just wanted to check in with you
to let you know I'm okay. I didn't want
you to think I DIED or anything.

I read immediately figuring it out it was James I just giggled and shook my head before beginning to text back.

Me:
lol. Thank you I'm okay
over here. stay safe❤️

I texted back as my phone started ringing and I seen Tiffany beginning to call my phone. I answered on the second ring "hello?" I answered "turn your TV on to Good Morning America" She said as I scrunched my brows and sat up. "Why what's going on?" I asked sitting up and feeling around for my TV remote. "You might want to Book the next flight to DC" she suggested as I turned the TV to "Good Morning America" seeing And hearing that the government was now coming up with their own new Captain America but they didn't disclose who exactly it was yet.

They then announced and showed who the "NEW" captain America was as he came out with a completely different uniform than Steve's. They then handed John Walker Steve's shield as I sat there pissed. "Tiff let me call you back." I simply said. "Uh oh" She started off. "Y/N Don't do it" She warned. "No I'm going to pack, book the next flight to DC and call Rhodes" I said calmly. " Y/N" Tiffany slowly said. "I will talk and handle Rhodes" she assured. "Why are you talking to me like I'm going to do something?! I just want to talk to Rhodes and who ever the Fuck was in charge of this dumb ass fucking idea" I said beyond pissed beginning to peck a duffle.

"It was the department of defense" She informed. "So then I'm going to Virginia okay" I simply said to myself. "Y/N" I heard Tiffany say as I stopped. "Yes Tiffany?" I asked. "Do not act a fool at the end of the day these were Sams decisions" She said as I thought about it for a moment. "Fuck that" I simply said before hanging up. I finished packing then went to get in the shower.

After about twenty minutes of washing up I got out did the rest of my hygiene routine before getting dressed in a hoodie and a pair of sweats and throwing my hood on. I started grabbing all of my things that I needed. I got in an Uber seeing that I started getting a call from Rhodes. I quickly answered it as he begun to talk. "Y/N when I tell you I had no idea they were doing Any of this" he assured. That's fine because I'm catching a flight out to the pentagon as we speak" I simply stated. "Y/N you need to take a private flight out there not a regular flight you don't know who is after you or who wants their hands on you" Rhodes brought up.

"I'm fine they better make sure I don't put my hands on them, government or not" I started off "these are the same people who didn't even want a captain America at some point but now that he's gone you need one?!" I questioned as Rhodes sighed. "Y/N I understand your frustration I'm frustrated too but this is the government we're talking about. This is the same government who was after your father and your husband at one point trying to kill them imagine what they're going to do to you" he brought up as I felt a tear roll down my cheek.

"That shield isn't even his" I said as i sniffled and wiped my tears away. "Y/N I understand that but now since Sam has given away that shield it is now considered U.S property so they can do whatever they want with it" he said as I just looked out the window. "So we just have to sit back and watch all of this play out?" I questioned. "I've talked to the head of the department of defense and as of right now yes" he said as I just pinched the bridge of my nose.
