I woke to see the comforting sights of my cosy bedroom.
"Mum?" I was extremely confused. Last time that was awake I was with Karly. Wait, Karly!
I screamed louder "MUM! MUM!" She came rushing in, worried.
"Sweetly! Are you okay!?"
"Oh yeah. Sorry I'm fine. Sorry that I worried you." I felt a bit guilty "Where's Karly. And what happened?" I was so curious now that I had to know
"Oh. Well. You passed out at that fire and you've been asleep for nearly a day and a half, and umm, I don't how to tell you this Wayne, but they had to fly Karly to LA." She waited in silence for the horrifying words to sink in.
"WHAT!" I almost yelled. I immediately pulled back the covers and rushed out of my door, eager to find my phone.
"Don't worry honey." mum continued, "They had to fly her there because they had the equipment she needed, and the therapy for her would be better there." Now I was really confused. Fly? Therapy? The paramedics told me that they couldn't fly her.
"But I was told that she couldn't be flown and...." I was cut off
"Yes and they managed to stable her for the flight. She is now in LAICH." Her soothing tone didn't help my now worried body. LAICH? LAICH! LAICH was so severe. I didn't think that her injuries were that bad! Las Angeles Intensive Care Hospital was for the worst of the worst injuries.
"Mum. I have to get to her. Now."

On the way to the airport, this lady was talking on the radio about her son who got disabled from an accident. I flicked the radio off. It was too much to bear right now. Mums voice broke into my silent thoughts
"So. I'll pick you up from the airport when you return. Call me as your boarding, so I know when to pick you up, okay?"
"Okay." the car still remained silent as we continued on towards the airport.
"Okay here we are. Remember everything I've told you and take care. Call me about anything you need and................" blah blah blah was all I heard. It was lovely to know her concern but seriously. I had other thing to think about too!
".....And make sure to say hello to her for me when you get there. Okay. Bye my darling!" She kissed me as she finished her what seemed to be recited paragraph on parenting. I grabbed the handle of my suitcase as I waved goodbye and quickly headed for the door to the airport.
Inside was complicated, but I managed to find my plane and board just in time for take off.

"Ladies and gentlemen we will now have hot and cold beverages being handed out by attendants. Please enjoy the rest of your flight and watch, and listen for any more safety or general announcements." Yum. Hot chocolate. I was freezing with the air conditioner turned up on full blast. I sat and drank my much needed hot chocolate, and finished it just in time before the pilot told us to fasten our seat belts as we landed.

LA was magnificent. Just like the movies as TV shows. Incredible. We landed just opposite Miami beach as the sunlight beat in on my face. At first the American accent was hard to pick up, but after a while, I started to understand it.

LAICH, read the huge blue and silver sign that was hung high up on a wide building. This is it. As soon as I had entered the hospital, a young lady approached me and queried of how she could help.
"Uh, Karly Jeffersonly?" I was unsure
"Of course! She's right over here!" Her voice was so chirpy as she led me through thousands of corridors and rooms before stopping in the empty hallway outside room D938.
"This is it. Please press the HELP button located inside the room if you have any more enquiries or issues." Well, she seemed satisfied
"Uh. Thanks?" She turned swiftly as she headed back the way she came. After watching her walk off for a few second to be sure that she was gone, I started to proceed with what I came for. As I poked my head through the door of the room, I could see a girl with blonde curls, cradling her head whilst reading a book. Running silently up behind her, I wrapped my arms around her warm body as she sprung from being startled.
"Oh my..........Wayne! It's really you! How are you feeling?" Omg. Hearing her voice was like angels singing in my ears.
"Yea I'm fine thanks. What about you?" I certainly hope she was okay
"Yea I'm good. Slowly getting better I guess. Things get tough sometimes being away from home and all but now that you're here, I'm feeling much happier." Her voice was chirpier in that last sentence. I smiled with my hand on her face, tucking the curls behind her ears as her blue eyes stared into mine.
"So, you wanna grab an ice cream or something later?" Her voice broke into
my thoughts
"Of course! Are you allowed out of the hospital?" Hey, I was curious
"Yea I'm allowed out for max 2 hours, as long as I'm with a 'responsible person' who knows me. In other words you have to fill out a few forms and I have to approve and what not." complicated. That's all I heard. Complicated.
"Uh okay? Sure. I can do that. I'll take care of all that stuff before I come and get you okay?"
"Okay." A few seconds of silence shortly reigned on us
"I better go. My plane just landed like an hour ago and I still have my luggage and stuff. I should go check in to my apartment." It felt so wrong leaving her, but I needed to do stuff.
"Totally cool. I'll see you later. By the way, are you staying by yourself?" Oops. Forgot to mention that. But, I liked how forgiving she was.
"Yes yea. Staying totally by myself at Miami Sunlight Hotel. Feel free to drop in any time. Number 38." I thought that I had to make the offer.
"Sounds good. Okay. See you later. Bye." We exchanged waves and hugs before I left the room, dying to see her beautiful face again that afternoon.
