We know what it is
We understand it
(No, we don't)
We cannot wrap our small
Our infinitely small
Minds around the idea
But we can try
(No, we can't)
While we know that
There is no end to time
Or space
Can we actually
Fathom that reality?
(No, not truly)
We know that
The horizon will never
Ever
Be closer than it is
We know that
(Do we?)
One glimpse
At a fraction
Of what could be
Makes what is
Feel incredibly smallI got slightly closer today
To feeling infinity
Infinity of time
Infinity of space
But all that did
Was make the world I know
Claustrophobic
And make the world I don't know
Absolutely terrifyingBut there are more
More kinds of infinities
Deeper and farther
Than time and space could ever be
And we've all been
To our own corner
Of our own infinityMaybe one day
I won't be so scared to face mineMaybe one day
I'll be facing two infinities
Without a fearful cell
In my entire being
Because
Maybe one dayMaybe one day
I won't be facing these infinities alone
