It had been exactly two weeks since they had arrested and imprisoned Mark and Matthew. Spencer had been offering Y/n space but also making sure she is okay all throughout the day. He doesn't really know how to go about the situation, he knows she likes space but he also knows her love language is physical touch. But with all she's been through... maybe it's changed? Maybe she doesn't want someone smothering her with hugs all the time.
He doesn't know. He's been lost ever since she moved in with him. She communicates when she's upset or when she's mad but doesn't talk to him about how she wants him to act. How can he comfort her when he doesn't know how?
"Whatcha thinking about?" Luke's sudden voice causes Spencer to almost jump out of his seat.
"I-um- nothing." He stutters, moving his hair out of his face.
Luke chuckles, " a little jumpy today, Lover Boy?" He sits down in Y/n's chair beside Spencer and looks over the photos on her desk. "Where's KK?"
Spencer flashes his eyes from her desk to Luke "I'm not sure," he scans the bullpen "I think shes getting coffee, or gossiping about me with JJ in the bathroom again." He says nonchalant.
Luke lets out a laugh, "I'm not surprised, those two don't know how to keep our names out of their mouths." He jokes, shaking his head and taking a sip out of his mug.
Spencer smiles knowing he enjoys Y/n talking about him. In high school that would mean she likes him... he thinks at least. He didn't have much experience with relationships in high school- or at all.
"How are you and Y/n by the way?" He asks about her again.
Spencer shrugs "things have been complicated." He sighs and fiddles with his fingers, "I mean, I know how I feel about her. I also know she... has more than just friendly feelings for me but with all that shes been through? Our feelings for each other just haven't been a priority."
Luke clicks his tongue making Spencer look back up at him, "don't do that." He demands, Spencer furrows his eyebrows in confusion. "I have known that girl since she was in diapers and the one thing she has made obnoxiously clear is that she hates pity. Do not hide your feelings from her just because shes had a shitty life Spencer. You love her? Tell her. Life is way to short for her to receive unwanted pity from the one man who hasn't hurt her." He preaches.
