"We know Wilchim is sadistic

"We know Wilchim is sadistic. He gets off by projecting fear onto people. So why has he only been targeting his family? A sadist wouldn't have a six year cool-off period." JJ questions as the three begin their walk inside the apartment complex.

Spencer presses his floor number on the elevator and shoves his hands in his pockets. "Maybe he's only sadistic to his family. Killing strangers has no meaning to him, but killing people he knows everything about and how truly scared they will be is the best thing in the world to him." He says in a deep and saddened tone. "Him having sexual interactions with his daughters and only physically abusing his wife proves pedophelia as well." He pauses and looks at the ground, "that's probably why he only took Y/n. Hellen doesn't have much meaning to him." He whispers.

They stay silent for a moment, taking in each others words. "We're doing our best kid. She's strong, she'll hold on long enough for us to find her." Luke says, patting Spencer on the shoulder as the elevator door opens.

The three make their way down the short hallway and to Spencer and Y/n's apartment. He unlocks the door and swings it open, automatically being met with a clean scent. He sighs, "She cleaned out of guilt again."

She always seems to do that. She cleans when she feels bad to make up for whatever she or someone else did. Spencer liked it because it's just another one of those things that he only thinks she does. The real question is why she felt guilty before she left this morning.

"What?" JJ asks.

Spencer ignores her question and moves into the living room. The couch had each throw blanket neatly laid across it. The coffee table was neatly set up with a candle and flowers. She cleaned off his books for him.

"Y/n does this thing where she cleans when she feels bad about something. I guess as an apology." Luke answers the question Spencer just couldn't bring himself to answer at the moment.

JJ breathes in deeply, "so, why was she feeling guilty then?"

Spencer wipes his hands over his face, holding in tears so he wouldn't cry for the fifth time that day. "Maybe she got sent a note too." He whispers, turning to face his coworkers again.

Luke stares at him in worry but ultimately nods. "We need check her belongings. She either hid it or threw it away. Knowing Y/n, she probably kept it." He begins walking towards the hallway but Spencer stops them.

"Wait, you're just going to invade her privacy?" He asks. Luke stares at him confused, "I mean that just feels a little...wrong..."

JJ bites her lip, compelled by his worry in a place it shouldn't be. "Spence, you know this is how investigation works. Whatever we find we won't use against her when she's back and just our friend again. But right now she's a victim, and we need to do everything we can to find her." JJ reassures him.

That's all Spencer needed to hear to allow them into their room. He would do anything to find her, even if that meant letting her friends search through her things, which he knows she wouldn't like at all.

JJ begins looking through Y/n's half of the drawers while Luke looked in all of the trash cans. Spencer looked through her nightstand. They had agreed on her having the left nightstand and him getting the right, only because she likes left more than right. He had no idea what that means or how you can like a direction more than the other, but he went with it. He always went with it, he did anything she wanted. Most men wouldn't enjoy that, but Spencer would do anything to get that back.

He digs through her things, mostly old phone charges, books, pens, and more books. Nothing that caught his eye until he saw a white piece of notebook paper folded once in half. He grabbed it and unfolded the paper, quickly scanning his eyes over the words.

Dear Y/N,

I advice you not to show this letter to anyone or I will make sure to kill every single one of your little FBI friends in front of you. Starting with that nerd of a boyfriend that you've seemed to be hurting over and over again. He told you he loved you today if I'm not wrong, but let me recall... you pitied yourself and said you didn't have an answer for him. Just like you did when you were younger. Always seeking for attention, some things never change. Even the cops saw what I did, Emily was her name? Oh that was a show. Pouring that drink on you was a foul move, but at least you had 'Spence' to pick up your broken pieces. Just wait until he gets bored of you crying everyday about your abuse and actually wants sex from you. I can't wait to see your face when you realize he's just like Matthew and Mark. I've seen it all Y/n. I've been watching your every move since you were a little girl so let me tell you this. I will know exactly what you do after receiving this letter, and if you say anything about it to anyone, I will make the events I have planned for us a hundred times worse.

The answer to your moms letter is: yes, you both did think I was gone for good. But here I am.

-Wilchim

"Guys, I found it." He pants, feeling as if he ran a marathon from the way his heart was beating. His heart burns knowing she read that alone, without anyone there to reassure her that not a single word on that paper was true.

Luke and JJ come rushing over, Luke takes the letter from him and they read it themselves. "Son of a bitch." He mutters.

"We need to get this back to Emily." JJ instructs.

Authors note

I think this is the shortest chapter I've ever wrote😟

I also don't know what's going on with the GIF of Spencer at the beginning. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
