"room 132," mike muttered and searched for that room with the paper flowers in hand but with them facing downwards to the ground.
"el, i'm sorry, i shouldn't have yelled and screamed." he muttered to himself and rehearsed his apology over and over again.
"i should have told you calmly," he continued and stopped just as his eyes met with the room he was searching for.
"please be here," he whispered to himself and knocked on the door.
he stood there for a few seconds before the door opened to a small gap and el's head peeked out just a bit.
"go away," she mumbled and was about to shut the door but he used his foot to stop it.
"look el, i'm sorry i yelled at you, i just wanted you to be safe and to listen," he rushed out before she would slam the door shut with her powers.
"i can't lose you, not again. and i'm so sorry that i didn't say it calmly and i just... i just love you and i don't want you to go too far," he explained to her and held out the flowers, "please forgive me."
her eyes trailed down to the ground as she tried to digest his words.
she assumed when he said not again, he meant the time where she stepped foot on the highway.
yet, deep down, she had a feeling that that was not what he meant.
"why won't you let me do this," she whispered, "i.. i have a plan and nothing will go wrong—"
"you don't know that, el. you can't predict the future." he told her calmly this time.
"i know but," she took a deep breath, "i promise you, okay? i'll be fine,"
he knew he couldn't argue with her so he just simply nodded in defeat. "accept the flowers and come home with me?" he asked in hope.
"i kinda wanna stay here for another night,"
his smile dropped a bit and he nodded slowly. "right, of course. yeah, i'll go then," he scratched the back of his head as he held back a frown, "i'm sorry,"
she only nodded then gently shut the door.
"you seriously couldn't have forgave him? maybe he should know, el," eli said as el turned around and gave him a little smile.
"he'll know when it's done." she said and walked towards him, "and i genuinely don't want him to worry for me."
"but what if something does go wrong?" he asked from the chair as she went to sit on the bed.
"nothing will. i'm sure of it," she grinned widely and laid down on her back, "now i just need to figure out how i can lure them,"

mike: hey, you're not at school, are you okay?
mike: el, i'm sorry
mike: seriously i am. pls can you answer me? you can be mad but just tell me you're okay
el: i'm omw.
mike: okay good, can i meet you out front?
mike: el?
he frowned at his phone seeing how el had read the message and how she did not reply.
he stayed waiting outside of the school as he sat down on the ground with his back laid against the wall till he saw her arrive.
she took around half an hour but he didn't care, he was just happy to see her.
"hey," he smiled and walked up to her as she looked up to meet his gaze.
