"you good?" mike asked and held el's hand as she turned to him after waking up from her small nap.

forcing a smile, she nodded. "mhm, just a nightmare,"

"are you sure you don't wanna take any medication to help you? i know it bothers you during the day," he said in a gentle tone but she shook her head.

"i'm okay, seriously." she told him, "i have learnt to deal with everything myself and i need to make sure i don't rely on those things again."

"but if it bothers you too much—"

"then i will take them," she cut him off. "i know my boundaries." she reminded him and he nodded.

"i know that, in just worried about you," he said and she smiled and motioned for him to come closer.

he moved his chair forward then hummed.

"not move your chair, i meant come lay with me," she laughed quietly but he shook his head.

"el, no. you're hurt badly, i don't need to hurt you more," he said.

"but you won't. the bed is big enough," she argued with him, "mike, please,"

he stood, "alright fine," he carefully laid down on the bed besides her and she went to dram and arm over him.

"closer," she requested with a frown as he moved closer to her but not too close since he was really afraid to hurt her.

"so what exactly happened when i was partially dead for a few days?" el asked, "how did dad also get arrested?"

"i took the information you gathered from hopper,"

her eyes lit up, "how'd you know?"

"i read you," he grinned and she blushed lightly, "thank you,"

"see, i always got you," he grinned and held her face which made her smile and lean down to his shoulder. "i know you do,"

"i'm so thankful," she breathed out as he hummed. "for?"

"for not being on my period right now," she exhaled dreamily, "i just imagined what it would've been like if i was on my period as my abdomen heals two holes."

he chuckled.

"what? don't laugh, i'm serious. you know the pain," her eyes rolled and he nodded. "yes, you curl up on my bed and whine enough for me to know,"

"don't make fun of me," she muttered as he shook his head, "i wouldn't dare," he leaned down and kissed her lips which made her smile widely.

"ugly," el nodded as emilio groaned, "but that was my favourite jacket!"

"if i was a girl who saw that suit on my first date, i'd jump out on the street and wait for the bus to hit me," el said, "next!"

"okay, it's a movie then dinner," he said and then grabbed his next jacket.

"boo," she blew a raspberry, "boring date,"

he gave a look, "okay, you banned all of my suit jackets so this is a bomber," he said and put it on and she finally smiled.

"much better," she gave a thumbs up, "and no stinky perfume. we don't approve stinky perfume in this household."

"it wasn't stink—"

"it was." she said then gave a look just as mike handed her a tangerine that he peeled perfectly and placed all of the small pieces into a flower design.
