"why are you out of bed, eli?" el asked as eli walked into her room, "i'm all better!"

el made a face, "lucky you. i think i'm permanently damaged now," she tried to joke even though it was true.

he frowned, "i'm sorry, sis,"

"don't be," she moved over on her bed and he went to lay besides her.

"you still can't stand, huh?" he asked and she nodded, "yeah, my legs are practically numb at this point. but my stab wound is all healed so i should be good soon,"

he nodded and held her head before moving her closer to kiss her forehead. "we'll be outta here in no time, and guess what, sis. i got her number,"

"did you really!?" she exclaimed, "sono così felice per te! (i'm so happy for you!)" she gave him a hug, "how'd you get her to!?"

"with my charm," he grinned which made her chuckle and lay down to his shoulder.

"you're so comfy, wombmate," she whispered and hummed as she snuggled closer to him, "can i sleep on your shoulder?"

"of course, go ahead," he whispered and held her hand as she smiled. "talk me to sleep,"

"what do you want to talk about?" he asked and she hummed, "how are you sleeping? you're not used to the hospital beds, huh,"

"hm, yeah, but it's all good. i know you're next door," he smiled and she nodded, "someone stays with you at night, right?"

"yeah," he confirmed and stroked her hair, "want me to sing you a lullaby?" he teased.

she scrunched up her nose, "ew! you're horrible!"

"am not!"

"you cannot sing, eli. i am so sorry but every time you sing, i feel like i'm about to go deaf," she said, "remember when you thought you were so good when we were little? you weren't."

"hey!"

"it's the truth." she said but with a little laugh at the memories, "i had to tell you to shut up,"

"you were a very mean child, okay?" he muttered, "you know you hate toddlers but each one you hate are exactly like you,"

"precisely why i hate then," she said, "i'm sleeping now, sleep with me,"

"and don't snore," she murmured, "or drool on me,"

"i never do that!" he denied once more with wide eyes. "stop accusing me!"

"it wasn't accuse, but a warning," she pointed a finger, "now shush,"

he huffed out in annoyance and defeat, then lowered his head down to hers before his eyes closed with hers.

"i hate you," she added tiredly as he let out a quiet chuckle.

"i hate you too,"

"you know we're kinda like orphans now, right?" el giggled as emerson shot her a look. "that's not a good thing,"

"i know," she simply said then shrugged and tried to stand.

"sit down," mike scolded her as she huffed, "i need physical exercise, okay? i haven't moved in weeks,"

"because you are hurt,"

"it's not that bad," she argued and held the side of the bed as mike rushed to help her, knowing how stubborn she was.

"fine. a step and that's it," he held her up as she took a small step but winced.
