The DragonBorn was kept confined to her chambers, only allowed to come out for a few hours a day so that she wouldn't lost any sunlight during her time in the Fire Nation. However, that also meant she was not allowed to meet anyone outside the Palace walls. It had been only a year since she was brought here to the Fire Nation Palace, and she was stripped of everything she once had.

No one beside the Fire Lord himself, or anyone he deemed worthy to see her, was allowed to see her face without the hood. The girl was stripped of her freedom, only allowed to leave her room if she had an escort of at least three soldiers or four Fire Sages.

The poor girl didn't even have her name anymore. She wasn't allowed to give her name to anyone and she was constantly referred as her title. DragonBorn. Lady Dragon. Those were just a couple names that she was allowed to be called, but never by the name her mother and father gave her when she was born. Many didn't even know what her real name was, as she was only called by her title.

However, though many in the Fire Nation never questioned the girl about who she was, the young prince and princess were most intrigued by this strange child who showed up out of nowhere.

One day, as Azula and Zuko had just been dismissed by their teacher after they had finished their daily lessons, they spotted a few soldiers walking out of the main building where their grandfather, the Fire Lord, always stayed. Just as they were passing, Azula caught sight of a black cloak that was always worn by the mysterious girl they met days ago.

Azula quickly dropped her books and ran over the guards keeping the girl out of sight.

"Hey!" The young princess shouted, running up to the group of soldiers, "I wanna see her!"

The soldiers turned around and saw the young princess running up to them, before she ran into one of them.

"I'm sorry, Princess. But under orders of the Fire Lord, the DragonBorn cannot be seen by anyone unless he authorizes it." One of the soldiers said, gently pushing the girl away to keep her from getting closer to the DragonBorn child.

"Then don't say anything to Grandfather." Azula pouted, "I just wanna see her face one time. Just once!"

"But Princess.."

"It's all right." The DragonBorn said, pushing past the other soldiers. She walked up to Azula, allowing the prince and princess to see her covered figure.

They could only tell that she was a girl from the sound of her voice. It was high pitched, but soft and gentle. Her entire head was covered by the cloak's hood, hiding her long hair and even parts of her face, meaning mostly covering her eyes from view. However, they were at least able to see the lightly tanned color of her skin and a small portion of the marking on her chest.

The girl smiled at the two, holding out her hand to shake Azula's.

"DragonBorn, you shouldn't." One of the soldiers said, "You were ordered not to touch anyone."

"It's all right." She replied, her voice no longer soft and gentle, but had more authority within her tone, "I am allowed some pleasantries, am I not? Surely I can simply shake the hand of the Fire Nation's Princess and Prince, right? If I am to be scolded, I will take the punishment that comes with it."

The soldiers, knowing that they couldn't say no to the DragonBorn, stepped back as Azula smiled and took her hand to shake it.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Princess Azula." She said. Azula happily shook her hand.

"Nice to meet you too." Azula said, "You talked back to the soldiers, I like that in a person. You're pretty cool. Wanna be my friend?"

The DragonBorn was surprised by the offer, but she truly did want a friend to have fun with when she was old enough and free from her burdens as a DragonBorn. She smiled and nodded.
