"So how- Z!!!" Quinn got cut off by my dad screaming.
"Yes?" I yelled back.
"Cant nobody hear that shit"
I rolled my eyes and stood up out my bed. "Yes?" I asked him entering the living room.
"Someone is here for you" He said. He looked nervous. And he's never nervous. Ever.
I saw two boys looking just alike sitting on the couch.
I nodded my head at them and looked back at my dad. "Who's this?"
"Shorty did not jus waddup us" One looked at the other laughing.
The bathroom door opened and I got hot seeing who was coming out.
"Who is that?" I asked knowing damn well who it was.
"That's your mama and these are her sons, your brothers" My dad said.
I stood there fumbling with my sweatpants string.
She stared at me with this look of pity in her face that just made me want to slap her, and i'm not even a violent person.
"I'm Keem" The twin with the lighter skin tone said.
"I'm Reem" The other with a darker skin tone said.
"I'm Zuri" I said.
"Let's sit down" My dad said taking a seat beside where my mom sat.
"Hey" She said.
"Hi" I spoke back.
"How have you been Z?" She asked shifting in her seat like she was scared of me or something.
"Good, i see you've been good" I told her.
"Yeah" She trailed.
"You Taryn?" She asked my dad.
"Straight" He nodded.
"I really want to uh.." She cleared her throat. "Apologies for any pain i've caused you. Honestly, I was so wrong for just leaving and i regret it every day but i couldn't- i couldn't keep myself in danger."
"Danger?" I tilted my head interested.
She made eye contact with my dad. He stiffened in his seat.
"Danger of what?" I asked.
"Me" My dad said suddenly.
"You?" I squinted my eyes. "How?" I had a hint of what he meant but i couldn't dare imagine my dad being like that.
"I was a terrible person, before you, I'll never forgive myself for it, and i don't expect Kailyn to forgive me for it either. But I am truly sorry"
"I'm glad you changed for your daughter" She said smiling at him.
his daughter? aren't i your daughter too
"Sooo..." I trailed in thought. "You left cause of him? Cause he was a bad person?" I pointed at my dad.
They nodded.
"How bad?"
"You don't need to know honestly, I don't want you to have a bad look on your dad because of the old him. Right" She looked at him for confirmation.
"I feel like she should know to be honest" Dad mumbled.
"No" My mom insisted.
"Okay whatever? You wanted to make amends or something? I don't exactly get where this conversation is going" I said leaning back on the couch.
"I want to have a relationship with you, fix what was once broken before it's too late" She said.
"Okay" I said.
They both looked at me like i was crazy.
"What?"
"I wasn't expecting you to give in this easy.." My dad said.
"No need to hold a grudge" I shrugged.
"Well I'll have your dad give me your number so we keep in contact" She said.
"Alright" I nodded standing up. She stood up as well and wrapped her arms around me.
"You're short" I said accidentally them quickly covered my mouth. "I'm so sorry i meant to say that in my head."
Everyone was dying laughing.
"It's okay" She said wiping her eyes. "I've heard it my whole life."
"Nice meeting you guys" I said giving Keem and Reem a hug.
"You too sis" They said in unison.
I pulled away and saw my dad and mom hugging, his hands resting on her lower back.
"Igh na get yo hands off my mama" Reem said walking over to them pushing him off of her.
"Boy" My mom laughed pulling away.
"I'm glad we could do this without a whole lot of drama" She said smiling.
"Fasho" My dad said coming beside me wrapping his arm around my shoulder.
We said our see you later a and what nots and they left. Peacefully.
