I laid in my bed and wondered whether i should call Majai or not. I'm not one to chase a guy or even entertain them but he's different.

I put my pride to the side and just called him.

No answer.

Yeah this is embarrassing i'm just going to watch some tv.

"Zuri you really just called a boy you barely know and expected an answer-"

I got cut off by my phone ringing, it was him calling me back.

"Never mind " I said to myself before answering the phone.

"Wassup li bit" He said.

"Hi, what are you doing?" I asked.

"Nun, you need help a sum?" He asked making me grow shy.

"Uh no- I- I don't know, I just wanted to talk i guess" I said getting ready to hang up the phone and blame it on my phone dying.

He looked at the phone with a questioning face.

"Never mind, have a good day" I said then immediately hung up. I threw my phone across the room and got under the covers getting ready to take a nap.

Ughhh i'm so embarrassed.

When i woke up from my nap i heard voices coming from downstairs.

I got up and splashed water on my face and brushed my teeth. I always have to brush my teeth after naps cause i just feel so uncomfortable without it.

"He sleep all day long, that's so lame" Carter said while my dad was holding Amir.

"Bro he's a baby, that's what they do" Majai said beside him.

"Look who's up" Dad said as he saw me coming down the steps.

"You hibernate like a damn bear bruh, sleep 24/7" Carter said.

"Carter you must wanna fight cause you been talking a whole lotta stuff" I mumbled sitting down on the love seat.

"What you wanna do?" He asked standing up.

"Aye you know Z can't fight so if you fuck my daughter up imma shoot you" My dad said.

"Y'all are so annoying" I said rolling my eyes.

"Aww, you ain't want the smoke" He said then sat back down.

I stared at him and zoned out imagining how bad i wanted to hit him right now. But i'm not.

"What the fuck you looking at punching bag" He said then fell out laughing.

I jumped up and ran over to him and stood on the couch and started punching him all over.

"Oh snap" My dad said standing up running upstairs with Amir in his arms.

He grabbed my leg and pulled it so i fell off the couch.

"Owww" I said touching my back.

"Yo you good" Majai asked coming beside me laughing.

"It's not funny" I said standing up. I dusted myself off and sat back down on the couch.

"Why you don't do them bitches who beat yo ass like that?" Carter asked.

I shrugged my shoulders.

A knock came to the door and Carter went over to open it rubbing his head. I didn't even hit him hard.
