"Baby, can you feel me?
Imagining I'm looking in your eyes
I can see you clearly
Vividly emblazoned in my mind"~
"It's beautiful that one." A voice says from behind me.
I turn to look for the voice and find him leant against the book shelves at the entrance of the isle. He watches me curiously with his icy blue eyes . He wears a black dress suit and has black hair, but his complexion is so pale, that he looks like he is glowing.
"Indeed it was, though I think there was more tragedy than need be." I say as I fiddle with the book in my hands.
He looks at me with an unreadable expression but cracks a small smile.
"You've read it before?" He asks. His voice showing a hint of surprise.
"I have."I say simply.
"I would say there was just enough tragedy. It had more than most romance novels, but that's what made it interesting." He says with a shrug. This book had me on my toes, and at times biting my nails. I loved it, though I sure wish they didn't kill off so many great characters.
Many tears were shed over this disheveled novel in my hands. I think back to the heartache of discovering my absolute favourite character had died. So much so, one would think he was my first love.
Speaking of this book with this strange man reminds me of how well written it is. I find myself wanting to purchase it to re-read, but the book isn't in the best shape to be wearing such a large price tag. The once white paper now the shade of a coffee stain, tears over the covers and few pages, plus some fading from age.
I think I will look elsewhere for a newer edition. I think as I mentally cringe at the price labelled as 'Discounted Price'.
"I guess I see your point." I say before looking back up to the stranger.
The man looks at me curiously and stands up straight, adjusting his slouched posture. I feel uneasy at the sudden change in height, the man seeming a lot more intimidating than he was moments ago.
I decide to take my leave and place the book back in it's place on the shelf before I bid my farewell.
"Well it was a pleasure, but I am late for lunch with friends. I'm sure they're looking for me-." Before I get the chance to leave, he steps in my way, blocking the only way out of this shelved corner.
I step back in surprise and annoyance as the man looks at me with a raised brow.
"As they should. A Princess shouldn't be wondering alone, whether it be in a palace, or a private event. You never know whom you may meet." He reaches his hand to my face. His hand is like ice against my skin as he tucks a strand of fallen hair behind my ear.
I flinch away from his unwanted touch and step back. I'm not surprised he knows who I am, but it helps me make sense as to why he approached me to begin with.
"Well whomever I may meet and whatever situation I may find myself in, I'm sure my fiancé will act appropriately." I say coldly. My face doesn't falter nor did I stutter, because I know for a fact what I said is true.
From what I have previously witnessed - such as the confrontation with Prince James, Kade's anger can be very terrifying. I couldn't even imagine what he would do to this man if he were to harm me.
The pale man scoffs and looks down at me amused, exposing an interesting set of teeth.
"Yes I don't doubt. I was once acquainted with your fiancé." He says while making quotation marks in the air with his fingers mockingly. He then looks down at the ring on my finger.
