Chapter Six: Letter For A Lady

"Miss!" I jolt awake and fall from the edge of my high bed and land on the floor with a thud.

Who the hell wakes someone up like that?

I groan and mumble tired nonsense and attempt to open my eyes.

"Jesus christ" I hiss and squeeze my eyes shut to protect them from the terribly bright light.

"Is there a reason I was woken up so rudely?" I snap tiredly once my eyes have adjusted and have managed to use my morning strength to stand.

I glare at my new lady in waiting Sylvia and her assistant.

"I apologise your highness, we have been trying to awake you for the past 30 minutes." She explains herself. I yawn and stretch whilst nodding.

Ok that makes sense. I am pretty sure I was up all night studying that book.

"No I understand it's ok. I was up quite late. What's the time?" I say taking a seat at the small table positioned next to the window where my breakfast waits.

"10:30 miss." The assistant says as I pick at the fruit. I nod and continue to pick at the fruit for a moment.

Wow I slept in late.

I gaze out of my window and admire the garden Kade and I were in yesterday. Snow heavily coated the hedges and grass where there was almost no trace of green.

Kade was odd yesterday and he continues to confuse me greatly. One moment he is shouting at me, the next he is telling me he was worried and wants to marry me? His behaviour seems to be influenced by greed, and I think after reading the book King Silus gave me, I have come to my decision.

I close my eyes a moment as it dawns on me. I have decided my fate and possibly the fate of this Kingdom. With the help of the book of course but mostly because of my jealousy and worry of the Prince's current relationship. Yes there is a possibility that she may not be his mate, but there is also a possibility she is. Do I really want to take the risk of marrying him just to discover she really is?

The more I think about my situation the less my decision seems to be solid. I find myself questioning everything all over again.

"Miss are you alright? Is the breakfast not to your liking?" I snap out of my deep thoughts and look up at Sylvia. I realise I have been sat here staring at my food for a few moments.

"No no it's perfect, I just have a lot on my mind." I say before popping a few more fruits in my mouth and taking a large sip of water.

I half finish my food before I decide I am not as hungry anymore and stand.

"Your bath is ready. Where would you like me to place this book?" The assistant asks and she makes my bed. I look over to her and the book she's holding.

My eyes widen and I immediately start rushing around like a crazy person.

"Crap crap crap! I'm meant to meet the King in 20 minutes!" I rip all of my clothes off of me before running off into the bathroom.
