Shinzen High School, 6:11 AM

"It's morning!"

Nishinoya greeted with a boisterous tone, shaking Asahi awake. But the guy groaned groggily.

"Let me sleep a little longer.." He whispered shut-eyed, turning to the side.

With a smirk, Nishinoya looked around and saw his other teammates who were still asleep.

He got up and decided to move the blinds aside, letting the sun shine through the window and interrupt their peaceful slumbers.

A chuckle came from his mouth after hearing the others groan and complain.

"Mmh? What time is it.."

Daichi asked, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

"Daichi-san, good morning!"

"Oh, Nishinoya, good morning.."

The captain got up and stretched his arms, overlooking his friends and noticing someone unusually missing.

Daichi: "Where's Y/N and Kinoshita?"

Nishinoya: "I saw them go out a few hours ago while the sun was still down.."

Daichi: "Why that early?"

The libero shrugged. Daichi could only sigh before inhaling deeply.

"Everyone, wake up and head to the cafeteria for breakfast! Oi, Tsukishima!"

"Riiiighhhttt.." Tsukishima muttered with a lazy tone, forcing himself to sit up.

...

At an empty court...

The rising sun poured through the gymnasium's windows, bathing the hardwood floor in warm light.

A gentle morning breeze drifted through the slightly open doors, rustling the practice jerseys hung on the wall.

Y/N stood next to the service area, arms crossed, observing his friend bounce a volleyball between his hands.

"Loosen up a bit." He instructed, stepping closer. "You look too rigid. It's like you're preparing for a battle instead of a simple serve."

Kinoshita laughed, but Y/N could see the anxiety in his eyes. "Right, I'll try to relax."

"Good. Now do it again... properly."

The nervous guy nodded, taking a few steps forward and gently throwing the ball into the air.

He launched himself up, executing a jump floater that fell just short of the net. The ball hit the ground with a dull thud.

Y/N frowned, "That was terrible. Your timing was off again, and you're not getting enough height. You need to focus on your jump technique. Try it again... properly."

Kinoshita nodded, visibly deflated but even more determined.

"Could you stop saying 'properly'? It gives me more pressure!"

Y/N frowned again, but retracted his expression after realizing.

"..Okay.. sorry."

"I-It's fine, Y/N. I was just kidding.."

He sighed and shook his head before attempting to try again.

This time, he adjusted his approach. Kinoshita managed to clear the net, but the ball floated erratically before landing outside the court.

Y/N sighed, trying to rein in his frustration,

"You're rushing it. You need to jump higher and extend your arm more. You're too focused on the result rather than the technique. It's like you're trying to make it happen instead of letting it happen."
