Chapter 2

" up here!" Lloyd pulled in a string and an old looking ladder fell down before them, leading up into the sealing where a hidden room laid.
" wait how!? Did you know about this place!?" Nya asked, but didn't hesitate to grab hold of it and start climbing.
" no, but I've seen multiple of these in my days back at the league. Most people has a storage spot in their sealings." Lloyd tells her, helping her to climb faster.
The entrance door to the right of them shatters into a thousand pieces as it gets broken up by what Lloyd could guess is a spear.
" Nya please hurry!" Lloyd nervously mumbled as he grabbed hold of the ladder and started to climb himself. But unlike Nya, who was slim and light, Lloyd was built differently and much heavier, and that didn't help much when the steps of the ladder broke with each stepp he took climbing.
" I knew it! I smelled spies! Get them!"

Lloyd had no time looking at them as he was struggling getting up. Nya luckily grabbed his arm and helped pulling him up. He was impressed at how strong she was, due to her size.
" I got you! Now let's go! At least they won't have an easy time getting up that ladder!" Nya smirks.
" yeah I almost didn't manage either." He grinned, but didn't hesitate to figure out their escape routine. And by the looks of it, there was only one way, and that was up and out.
Lloyd hurried over to the window and smashed it.
" get up on the roof! I will pool you up as soon as I reach the top." Lloyd carefully climbed out and grabs hold of the window bars that surrounded it.
"Hurry Lloyd! They're coming!" Nya calls out.
Lloyd took a deep breath and started climbing. It wasn't to far to reach the top, but this wall wasn't an easy climb.
" I'm coming out! I can't wait!" Nya quickly climbs out as well, starting to climb the same path he had gone.
" shit..." Nya mumbles.
" what's up?" Lloyd calls down to her, but she just waves her hand, signaling to keep going. Lloyd did so, he grabbed the roof edge and pulled himself up, then turning to grab Nya. He reached out his hand to her and after some seconds of struggling, Nya reached out her hand for his. He grabbed it. For the brief second he looked down, he saw the blood. Her hand was full of it.
He pulled her up.
She groans in pain as she climbed over the roof edge and falls to her knees as she's up with Lloyd.
"Nya, your hand, it's..."
" I'm fine, I just cut my hand by the glass shards by the window." She replied, but as they were to start roof jumping, he noticed her limping. She didn't cut her hand at all... she cut her leg...

" I can see them from here! Get them!" Lloyd hear one of their hunters call out as they exited from a roof window and onto the roof.
No way this was happening right now! Nya was injured and the serpentine's were catching up to them.
" Nya, how bad is it?" Lloyd quickly turned, kneeling down to investigate her leg.
" I don't know, it just really hurts..." she admitted. There was no use in hiding it.
There was no time, and there was no way he was gone let her run with that wound.
" get onto my back! I will carry you til we get to the river!" She had no choice and warped her arms around his neck, allowing him to pull her onto his back and start running in the direction of where the river would be.
He ran onto the rooftops , jumping from building to building, and tried his very best to not misplace his steps. For a moment, they were managing well to keep a good distance from the hunting serpentine's, but as soon as there was needed of more jumping around on the roofs, rather than straight forward running, things started getting hard, and the enemy was quickly catching up.
" Lloyd this isn't working!" Nya called out.
" tell me about it" Lloyd replied as he jumped from the roof over to a taller building. They reached one of its windows and some climbing was necessary again. But carrying Nya wasn't easy anymore. He was getting exhausted and the lack of time they had, things weren't looking good, and Nya saw that.
" Lloyd... let me down." She told him as they reached the roof again.
" what? No way Nya. You can't walk, especially not run in that leg! And what if you still got some glass in there?" Lloyd didn't like the sound of it.
" Lloyd... " she began, but Lloyd shook his head.
" no way, I'm carrying you through this" he stared running again, but every now and then, he stumped, and almost threw Nya off, but he kept going.
" please Lloyd, I can try to at least run" she begged, but Lloyd didn't stop. He didn't even badger to reply. Or maybe he was to exhausted to..
" oh you're not getting away kid!" A tall man, with snake like features jumped out in front of them, blocking Lloyds, path ahead.
" there's no need to keep running, why don't you just surrender instead?" Another serpentine came up from behind and in a matter of seconds, they were surrounded.
Lloyd was breathing heavily as the run had been to much for him. Both running and carrying Nya had drained him of everything there was.
" quite a journey! Don't you think?" Another one chuckled as he watched them.
" let me down Lloyd..." Nya commanded. She pushed herself off him and in pain, walked in front of him.
" Nya, your wound..." he spoke, seeing that her whole left leg was covered in red.
" don't worry about me Lloyd, worry about you" without another word, she closed her eyes and slowly moved her hands in a calm movement, almost like a quiet dance. At first he was really confused at what she was doing, but then it hit him... she's connecting herself with the water.
He tilted his head and looked down to where a rising river was moving up towards them.
" attack them!" The serpentine leader called out, realizing what was going on, but before they were able to do much, an arm of water surrounded him, and grabbed hold of Lloyd, gently lifting him up into the air.
Lloyd was terrified at this, but it was actually working, Nya was saving them from the serpentine attack!
Or....
No.
Nya was saving him from the serpentine attack. As he realized that, the hand of water that held onto him quickly dashed towards the river behind them and before he was able to do anything, water surrounded him and he lost track of time and speed as huge waves and streams of water pushed him down into the river and brought him far away. He tried to resist, he had to go back and get Nya! He couldn't leave her with them! No!!
As he fought to, get up from the water, something out of nowhere hit his head...

...and everything around turned black.
