Brine bolted for the door. His hands free from the ropes and his blindfold off, his fingers reached out for the doorknob. Open.
A long hallway instead of the outside world faces him as the door flies open and the unexpected greets him.
' What the...' His mind spoke, extremely confused at his surroundings. Having been blindfolded had prevented him from seeing anything, but he had been able to hear everything. Footsteps and voices had a different sound to it if it had been through a cave or a halfway. Causing echoes or sound reflection. None of that had been anything close to it. He had been certain that the entire journey on the back of his kidnappers had been taking place outside until arriving at the house... this is not natural... it just can't be...
Without hesitation, Brine rushes out and his journey to escape has began. He had no idea where this hallway ended, but at least he had a few seconds to his advantage.

" The boy!" Pixal yells.
" Agh Fuck!" Ronin replied, both dashing full speed at the door to persuade him. An arm catches Ronin, stopping him on the spot, and Pixal halts as she notices.
" He's getting away!" Pixal stress, but a slight grin crosses his face.
" Clouse! He is getting away!"
" No need to rush, all things comes to those who are patient" Clouse let go of Ronin, and they both glances at each other in confusion.

' this doesn't make sense!' Nothing about this place made sense, he had been running for minutes and he saw no door! None of this seemed logical at all!
Brine turned a corner and found the hallway continuing beyond his view of sight. Every turn hand been like this, no door, just an endless hallway. Was this place effected by some kind of magic? How come he had not noticed coming through these tunnels before? Was this all real?
" no! Don't stop now!" Brine speed up his running, heading down the hallway, just like every other one he had been through previously. There was no windows, and the walls seemed to be made out of solid stone, cold it be that he was under ground...? At the thought of it, a small uneasy feeling grew inside of him. These walls didn't look like the ones at the league hide outs, but... it also had unlimited hallways and paths without windows. His pulse rises and a thousand voided start to panic inside his mind. What should he do!? Was this the doing of the league!?
" CLING"
A loud sound of something sounding like metal hitting metal ran through the hallway, loud and singularly cold. It was like a loud echo coming from far down the hall. This made Brine freeze in his tracks, ears on guard. It had come from behind him, but it was impossible to tell how far back.
Another hard clingy sound was heard, sounding just like the first. 'Behind me...' Brine noted. The sensation of a thick scream tries building up inside him, but he swallowed it down to shut it out. Panic would be his downfall if he allowed it to go to his head, and he couldn't let that happen. Not now.
Gathering all of his strength, Brine ran with full force down the hallway, away from the direction of the creepy sound. It kept repeating in a steady pattern, but slowly seemed to be fading as he progressed.
" Cling"
A good sign. By every turn, he made sure to choose the path that would lead further away from the clings of metal, strategically working with his progress. Even though he seemingly got further and further away, he could not shake off the feeling of unease.
Brine almost collapsed at the next turn, completely out of breath and drained off energy. He had put in everything he had. His body hadn't regained all of his strength back and he could really feel it taking a toll on him.
" breathe, just breathe "
" Cling"
his shoulder leaning against the wall, he gasped for air. His feet felt like jelly and the voices inside his head were drowned by one voice screaming for air.
Spending a minute catching his breath, some of his strength returned. Not much of it, he was still exhausted, but for now, he would be able to proceed in a fast walk. The clinging sound was far behind him, and that called him down slightly.
" a door... I just need to find a door..." God, how he wished he had some water on him right now.
" Cling"
His hand slides against the wall for support as he continues on the chosen path. Ears on guard for any sound, he walk in silence, just feeling the wall. Maybe he could feel a change in it his his eyes were actually betraying him. His ears certainly had earlier.
As far as he could tell, it was as solid as any kind of rock. Nothing special or any sign of suspicion so far. Even tho that presumingly was a good thing, he still felt uneasy. How come the house have a basement as massive as this? And how come there aren't any doors? If this was an underground maze, it had to go through large parts of the city, but without any doors or paths leading out at different locations, what kind of strategic purpose would it have? This doesn't make sense.
Brine turned around to look behind. No one was following him, nor could he hear anything.
Good.

"CLING"

Ice cold shivers alarmingly exploded inside his head at the sound of the metal against metal clinging coming out from the walls, all around him.
" How!?" His own voice explodes inside his head in frustration.
Clutching his head with both arms, trying to shut the loud sound out, Brine fell to his knees, his body roaring in pain from a sensation fiery needles piercing his bones from within, forcing bloodcurdling screams out of him, Screaming to the stage of his throat and lounges are soar with excruciating pain.
What was going on with him!? Why did this sound cause him this unbearable pain? Was this... magic? Black magic?
He covers his ears with both hands, trying to shut out the sound, but it didn't seem to work. He freed his right hand and started searching the ground with it, searching for whatever could help him move. The hallway was dark. Even tho there weren't any windows or torches, the hallways weren't too dark to not be able to eye his surroundings. He didn't manage to scout for long as the pain was becoming too overwhelming.
" I'm surprised, I expected my trick to having knock you by now." He recognized the voice from earlier. But how come he hadn't heard him!? Nothing! No footsteps no nothing!
" your endurance levels are impressive" Brine opened his eyes, trying to search for the owner of the voice, but the pain only grew by him doing so, so he stopped right away. He wanted to reply, but even just thinking hurt at the moment.
" so so, it won't kill you" shivers ran down his neck at the feeling of cold fingers touching his skin. It didn't feel like a normal touch, nor physical.
The sound disappeared. All sound disappeared.
The pain slowly faded, but didn't go away completely. At first, he was relieved, but that didn't last long when he felt something warm and wet dripping down his neck and onto his shoulders. His fingers felt their way up the trail of blood that by the source, seemed to be coming from his ears.
